SUMMARY:EMBODIED ARTS FESTIVAL
DESCRIPTION:[English below] \nEMBODIED ARTS FESTIVAL - AUF DEN SPUREN VERKÖRPERTER ERINNERUNGEN \n♦️♦️♦️ Embodied Arts Festival Guide ♦️♦️♦️ \nWas verkörpern unsere Körper? \n  \n \nEMBODIED ARTS FESTIVAL - TRACING THE MEMORIES OUR BODIES HOLD \n♦️♦️♦️ Embodied Arts Festival Guide ♦️♦️♦️ \nWhat memories do our bodies hold? What can our bodies tell us about ourselves\, our pasts and our futures? We invite you to join us for an artistic exploration of these and many other questions during the EMBODIED ARTS FESTIVAL. We have 20+ performances\, film screenings\, discussions\, and interactive interventions planned for you. \nUsing art as a tool we go in search of answers to questions such as: How do we break taboos about menstruation\, about gender norms\, about sexualities\, about death and mourning? How can we collectively heal trauma? How can our bodies transform from an object that is a carrier of social constraints into a manifestation of thriving\, living bodies? Where does hate come from\, how does it affect us\, and what path does it take from hater to hated? \nCurators\, artists and cultural practitioners have been exploring identities\, belonging and embodied memories through diasporic\, decolonial and queer perspectives as part of Oyoun’s first curatorial focus: EMBODIED TEMPORALITIES. This has been an 8-month research\, archiving\, exhibition and performance project involving 40+ people. The outcomes\, encounters and queries which have come out of the projects will be presented and celebrated during the EMBODIED ARTS FESTIVAL from 8th - 18th April. \nJoin us from the 8th April onwards for our digital programme of releases\, live streams and interactive talks that we have planned for you >>> see all event here. \nFrom the 9th - 18th April you can book a time slot to view and experience the exhibited works in person at Oyoun.

If not careful\, a cow might lose its life here\, killed by the heavy machines or trapped under tons of trash. Despite all the risks\, this practice has been around for many years as their owners save the trouble of looking for pasture and instead rely on human food waste to feed them. While some cows are lucky enough to have a barn to return to in the afternoon\, some have to spend the night here because the owner lives far away from the site. SUMMARY:W/O Additives - Music Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:▸ About the Music Exhibition:\nThis is Mariam’s & Miriam’s pilot project at Oyoun\, with illustrations and music of BIPoc artist.\n‘w/o additives’ is a music project\, dedicated to BIPoC musicians from the past and present.\nThese musicians changed the way we listen to music without us even knowing\, let alone recognize. The project is about making those BIPoC artists visible. It contains a successive adding of artists\, made visible to you\, until the shop opening and book release in 2022. \n▸ About Mariam Al-Jwari :\nMariam was searching for a long time - searching for visibility\, representation and spaces of being and creating. Then she decided to create this on her own\, for herself and others. With her project ‘w/o additives’ she explicitly wants to offer BIPoC artists a space to develop beyond marginalization or exoticization\, deliberately without using the external perspective as a yardstick. She is into DIY – beyond perfectionism\, but in perfection. \n▸ Opening Hours:\n31.08. - 14.09.2021 14.00 - 18.00 (on 10.09. 14-20h)\n// Tuesday - Saturday\nTime slots every hour can be booked via Eventbrite. \nDue to corona four people per time slot can visit the exhibition personally accompanied by Mariam. \nThe reservation is free of charge\, but we would appreciate a small donation. \n▸ Social Media Kontakte \nIG: w/o additives\nwithout.additives.berlin \nIG: Mariam\na.j.maro \n

SUMMARY:Dance\, live music + conversation | Solidarity Fundraiser for Flood Affectees in Pakistan
DESCRIPTION:This year's Earth Day\, join the group Critical Pakistan for a solidarity fundraiser for flood affectees in Pakistan. While Pakistan is responsible for a statistically small share of global carbon emissions\, Global Climate Risk Index 2021 ranked Pakistan the 8th most vulnerable country to climate change. Climate change has caused frequent floods\, unpredictable rainfall\, soil damage and food insecurity. Last year\, Pakistan faced unprecedented floods leaving behind a massive trail of death and destruction. The floods caused damages of 40 billion dollars  to the infrastructure. It killed more than 1700 people\, almost one-third of whom were children. More than 793\,900 livestock died and around two million acres of crops and orchards were impacted. Unfortunately\, floods are no longer part of the news cycle and media attention has dwindled. Nevertheless\, the crisis remains: millions are still struggling to meet existential needs. \nThe first part of the evening will be a conversation on climate justice and action with activists from both Pakistan and Germany discussing questions on responsibility\, resistance and their work. Moderation: Fazila Bhimji \nAn aspect of the climate crisis is the “rapidly closing window of opportunity” to act against climate change. Within this context\, join us for a conversation as we address important questions: \nWhat struggles and experiences are overlooked in mainstream ideas of ‘climate change’ or ‘climate action’? How the climate crisis intersects with other social struggles? What can we do to challenge the systems we live in\, and create openings for a better world? How can wealthy nations assume responsibility for the climate crisis and how can activists instil pressure on them to do so?  \nPart 2:  Performance with dance\, theatre & live music \nرلی   \nWith Amna Mawaz Khan\, Kazim Hussain and Dara Shikoh Channa \nImmersed and divided\, we are in the ebbs and flows of the self and the whole.  The evening is exploring زندگی کی رلی\, or the patchwork of life. Non-human and human interaction: the synchronicity of the individual - collective // fusion - division\, as well as transgression: the dysfunctionality in the imbalance // vengeance - grief. a conversation between Amna\, Dara Shikoh and Kazim.
