SUMMARY:Workshop | Black Freedom Circle: Juneteenth Edition
DESCRIPTION:Juneteenth\, a commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States\, holds a profound significance not only for Black Americans but for Black people around the world. It serves as a powerful reminder of the enduring spirit of resilience\, strength\, and triumph in the face of adversity. \nWhile this holiday originated in the context of the United States\, its essence transcends borders\, making it an ideal occasion for Black individuals across the globe to unite in celebration of our shared excellence and to collectively confront the ongoing impact of colonialism and enslavement. \nThis circle will go beyond the festivities and historical reflection to provide a unique opportunity for us to engage in a transformative journey of self-discovery and community building. \nBy employing relational practices\, somatics\, and group work\, we can create a space that fosters a deeper connection with ourselves and our fellow community members. In doing so\, we tap into the inherent power within us—the "Body of Culture"—and cultivate a sense of belonging\, identity\, and purpose. \nThrough these practices\, we can regulate our individual and collective nervous systems\, healing the wounds inflicted by a history of oppression and discrimination. By acknowledging and processing the enduring impacts of colonialism and enslavement\, we pave the way for a future where our rights to simply exist\, to belong to a community\, and to continuously grow and evolve become effortlessly manifested. \nThe gathering on Juneteenth becomes an embodiment of our collective resilience and a testament to the strength of our shared bonds. This is a sacred space where we can express our joy\, pride\, and freedom\, while also acknowledging the ongoing struggles we face. By coming together\, our voices can be heard\, we magnify our impact and forge a path toward liberation and justice. \nTicket: 20 / 15 / 10 Euro  \nRegistration here \nLanguage: English \nAbout the facilitator \nJaden is a biracial\, black-bodied\, man from the USA. With a comprehensive understanding of the interconnectedness of the mind\, body\, and spirit\, Jaden is a passionate advocate for leveraging somatics\, encompassing movement and meditation\, as a means to facilitate healing and personal growth. \nJaden's journey in studying the effects of trauma on the body-mind complex has equipped him with invaluable insights into the profound ways in which our experiences shape our physical and emotional selves. By integrating somatic practices into his teachings\, he empowers individuals to reconnect with their innate wisdom\, tap into their authentic selves\, and embark on a transformative path toward wholeness. \nJaden's mission centers around orienting people towards what is natural\, true\, and essential for themselves. With a deep commitment to authenticity and self-expression\, he encourages individuals to embrace their inherent strengths and embrace their own unique paths. By focusing on the integration of the body-mind he facilitates a harmonious balance that enables individuals to unlock their full potential and lead lives of fulfillment and purpose. \nIf you need more information about the event\, please contact Jaden at jadenaramsey@gmail.com \n*This event is for people who identify as BIPOC\, Bodies of Culture. \nAccessibility: \nOyoun is constantly working to make access to all events offered in the building as barrier-free as possible.
