SUMMARY:Queens Against Borders: Ukrainian Queers relief
DESCRIPTION:Ukrainian Queers relief will be a solidarity event from & for the trans and queer\nartists of Berlin with Acts and performances by the residents of QAB plus\, guests performers from (Iran\, Egypt\, Brazil and more) showcasing their Art and expressing their emotional and personal experiences with the audience. Acts of Spoken word\, stand up comedy\, singing\, and dance will create the most beautiful night that allows us all to share the moment together and fundraise for a good cause\, helping the Trans Queer community (in Ukraine because of the current circumstances and the refugees seeking support with an emphasis on QTIBIPoCs fleeing the country with no governmental support) as well as funding a program for the community allowing them to participate and learn self defense via classes and workshops. We would like to initiate this action due to the rising of hate crimes and violence against trans and queer people and People of Colour in our city. We are tired of being scared for our lives and hiding who we are... \nQueens Against Borders can’t stay silent. \nSo for us to allow awareness and support the community by defending themselves. DESCRIPTION:AS* PAPANGUS Street Performance in São Paulo \n- 2pm São Paulo / 7pm CET\n- street performance at Bananal arte e cultura contemporânea\n- live-streamed via Oyoun’s Instagram account \nAS* PAPANGUS is a carnival for\, by and with women* that does not objectify any marginalized body. In AS* PAPANGUS\, the Afro-Brazilian artist Bruna Amaro performs a carnival in its most queer-feminist and decolonial form\, with more than 50 women* in São Paulo and Berlin. \nIn this participatory project\, a series of performance workshops laid ground for the following acts. During the two-day workshop in São Paulo\, the artist and the participants collectively built up movements and statements for their street performance. Phrases manifesting experiences of survival\, transformation and labor\, were embroidered on the costumes handmade by Bruna Amaro and the seamstress Eliana Amaro dos Santos. \nIn the street performance on April 10\, 40 women* walk down the streets of São Paulo with the Papangu clothes on\, with the statements on their chest\, braced with handcrafted props\, and dancing to the festive music. Artists Ahmad BaBa and Gugulethu Duma invite practitioners concerned with decoding and recoding embodied memory to enter into an exchange where the body is a centre of the ongoing investigation.For this residency\, the artists are looking to collaborate with practitioners concerned with Subaltern states of being and the development of liberatory praxis in the community.  \n(De)coding Trajectories takes place as part of the Embodied Temporalities project by Oyoun Berlin in partnership with Dafa Puppet Theatre.  \nWithin the framework of Embodied Temporalities – Tracing the memories our bodies hold\, cultural practitioners explore identities\, belonging and embodied memories from diasporic\, decolonial and queer perspectives. SUMMARY:What's your radio show?- An evening with independent radio makers in Berlin
DESCRIPTION:Berlin has a vibrant scene of independent and artist-run radio stations\, that provide frameworks and platforms for musicians\, DJs and other artists to produce mixes\, radio shows\, and sound art. To play music they care about\, to share new releases by other musicians\, to also to use the airspaces as experimental grounds for creative new ideas. And to also talk about politics\, culture and things that matter to them. \nFor the past 2 pandemic years\, live gigs have been quite erratic and impossible in many cases – meanwhile the radio stations have provided a stable and constant outlet for creative sound works. While most of the radio work is volunteer-run and could not compensate for income\, still the radio stations have provided and continuously are providing public platforms\, rooms to experiment\, and spaces to share music and sound. Of course\, artist-run radio stations have provided that space for decades\, and new stations are starting afresh.\nWe want to take a moment to celebrate all the manifold sounds that have been aired or streamed\, and all the creative and organizing energies that come together to make the many sound streams continuously happen\, that inspire people around town and internationally. \nAnd – we would like to discuss with people who are part of running the different stations on the panel\, and hopefully also lots of radio makers in the audience\, about their experiences\, learnings and plans for the future of radio making. We are curious to find out about the histories\, cultures and ethos of the different stations – and so also give those of you who are considering to start making radio shows some ideas of where to turn to. We want to understand a bit more about outreach and developing audiences\, both as the station and for the radio DJs. About community building and the creative ecosystems around the stations\, with a particular view to the context in Berlin. About sustaining the stations and the shows. About the relevance and role of radio for artists and audiences. About artists' experiences with making radio shows. And about ideas and plans for the future. \nWe hope for many past\, current\, and future radio makers to join us for this conversation at Oyoun. For an exchange of experience about making radios as musicians\, and about hosting those spaces. \n>> Registration here. \nWe will be discussing with: \nGiacomo Gianetta is a co-founder and CEO of the experimental community radio station Cashmere Radio in Berlin. He composed and performed\, amongst others\, for Deutsche Oper\, Deutschlandradio Kultur\, Hamburger Bahnhof\, transmediale\, Venice Biennale\, TNT Nine Theatre Beijing. His research focuses on parallel artistic processes and experimentation through a high variety of practices and media. -\nCashmere Radio is a not-for-profit community experimental radio station which was originally based in Lichtenberg\, Berlin for the first six years of its existence before recently moving to Wedding. The ambition of the station is to preserve and further radio and broadcasting practices by playing with the plasticity and malleability of the medium. It is both a physical station open to the public and an online radio The radio can be heard 24 hours a day\, seven days a week on our website\, and on Friday and Saturdays via 88\,4 Berlin and 90\,7 Potsdam via the 24/3 Radio Netzwerk\, a collaboration between six of Berlin’s independent radio stations. \nGaby D’Annunzio - is a social activist\, community organiser and mental health advocate. She works as community manager and workshop coordinator at Refuge Worldwide radio. With a Master of Arts inPsychology\, she has always had a keen interest in social issues and people's well-being. She is also the co-founder of the Open Music Lab\, and hosts the Agora podcast series for Give Something Back To Berlin.\nRefuge Worldwide - was started as a fundraising platform working in solidarity with grassroots and non-profit organisations. In January 2021 we launched Refuge Worldwide\, a new radio station to amplify the music and issues that we care about\, broadcasting weekly from Weserstraße 166 in Berlin Neukölln. Refuge Worldwide commits to striving for a gender-balanced station\, representative of minorities. The\nstation is focused on community-building and creating space/visibility for underrepresented artists. We are really excited to present a broad range of shows ranging from 100% music-focused programmes\,\nto some that incorporate interviews and debate\, to programmes completely dedicated to discussion. \nSENU is a multidisciplinary creative - DJ\, radio host\, designer and workshop facilitator. She is one of the founding members of SLIC Unit\, a DJ collective that was formed in 2020 in order to practice collective joy and radical solidarity within the music industry. She hosts a monthly radio show at Berlins community radio THF\, called DRAFT Radio. With the show\, she is trying to create opportunities for FLNTA* DJs and selectors\, in order to share the community space and make the radio experience more accessible to fellow music enthusiasts. \nLouis Kohlmann is co-running THF Radio\, a community radio located at the former gatekeepers house of Tempelhof Airport. From 2012-2017 he was part of Projektraum LOTTE\, a collectively run art space in Stuttgart. Besides radio\, he is doing his PhD in philosophy at Humboldt-University in Berlin\, where he’s working on the social and political dimensions of language.\nTHF Radio is a community radio for Tempelhof and beyond for the whole of Berlin. We offer musicians*\, artists*\, bands and DJ*s a chance to try out different formats. In addition\, we are a platform for urban political discourse through various interview and talk formats. The radio is a department of the recently founded Torhaus Berlin e.V.\, and is correspondingly located in the Torhaus\, the gatekeeper house inside the former airport. SUMMARY:AS* PAPANGUS Ausstellung
DESCRIPTION:Austellungseröffnung + Einführung von Bruna Amaro am 30.4.2022 von 18:00 bis 20:00 h\nDanach (vom 1.5. – 27.5.2022) täglich von 12:00 h – 20:00 h \nDie Ausstellung wird ein Ort des Gedenkens und der Ehrung der Frauen* sein\, deren tägliches Leben ein Kampf gegen den allgegenwärtigen Femizid und die strukturelle Unterdrückung ist. Die Feier ihres Überlebens wird in einem multimedialen Format präsentiert: Installation der Kleider und Masken\, die von den Frauen* in den Straßen von São Paulo und Berlin-Neukölln getragen wurden\, sowie die Videodokumentation der Karnevalsperformance in São Paulo. \nIn diesem partizipatorischen Projekt legte eine Reihe von Performance-Workshops den Grundstein für die folgenden Aktionen\, in denen die Künstlerin und die Teilnehmer*innen gemeinsam Bewegungen und Aussagen für ihre Straßenperformance entwickelten. Auf die von Bruna Amaro und der Näherin Eliana Amaro dos Santos handgefertigten Kostüme wurden Phrasen gestickt\, die Erfahrungen des Überlebens\, der Transformation und der Arbeit zum Ausdruck bringen. \nAS* PAPANGUS setzt sich kritisch mit der kolonialen Matrix des Karnevals auseinander\, indem es auf den unterdrückenden Blick achtet und die Ausbeutung von queeren Körpern\, von Körpern von Frauen*\, von Farbigen\, von Menschen mit Behinderungen und von Körpern\, die struktureller Unterdrückung ausgesetzt sind\, nicht zulässt. \nAS* PAPANGUS eröffnet das erste Kapitel von Oyouns kuratorischem Schwerpunkt Mightier than a Trampled Flower\, der das Leben von Frauen* im Krieg aus einem dekolonialen Kontext heraus in den Mittelpunkt stellt und die kanonischen Erzählungen von Frauen* im Krieg dekonstruiert. \nMehr Infos findest du hier. \nAS* PAPANGUS ist ein Karneval für\, von und mit Frauen*\, der keine marginalisierten Körper objektiviert. This event is an invitation to deepen collective thought around what it means to supply culture\, as cultural workers concerned with our African lineages\, afro-futurism\, and the richness of the diasporic cultural experience \nCult Sup is a celebratory journey of artistic disciplines ranging from sound\, visual\, literary\, plastic\, somatic\, dramaturgical\, fashion to culinary. We’ll be engaging in interdisciplinary dialogue sharing knowledge\, healing methods\, performances\, and exhibitions from a community of contributors coming from different parts of the African continent. Our events provide safe spaces where people from every age\, gender\, ethnical background and persons with disabilities can gather to educate themselves while having a good time and learn about each other. Born in France and visiting Mali regularly since age of 3\, Astan grew up being surrounded by black people and white people which has enabled her to never face any identity problem and has come to a result today of considering herself as a « child of reconciliation ». She combines various music genres from jazz to rock to afro-techno to hip hop\, trip-hop to illustrate her universe that is mostly experimental.Her music is about life\, love\, friendship\, protest and intellectual rebellion\, but also about growing up as a mixed-race woman and the importance of acquiring the right knowledge\, as there is a lot that school doesn't teach us. Although much of her work is about glorifying the black woman\, she still preaches a great message of universality. \nNane Kahle a.k.a Michel Mariane is Berlin based a multicultural\, interdisciplinary performance researcher and artist. She spent her formative years in Ivory Coast\, Senegal\, the Caribbean before her relocation to France. This multiplicity and migration inform her way of seeing and existing\, manifesting as a creative practice\, at the intersection of music\, theatre\, movement and medicine. Coming from a biochemistry background\, Nane’s connection with nature\, belonging and the un-natural converges as a curiosity exploring the dynamic interactions between living organisms\, intangible belonging and the tangible ecologies of being. Myth making and ancestral knowledge preservation are explored in her practice\, where aspects concerning transformation care and healing are at the center. The vitality of creative energy allows her practice to function as a conduit\, invigorating her community building efforts as well as her own personal processes.Her curatorial and performance work the Out Of Time Embassy\, Sonic Interventions Collective and CultSup see her curating contemplative and empowering environments for marginalized voices to be heard. \nNatisa Exocé Kasongo a.k.a Exocé OOB Kasongo is a Berlin based multidisciplinary Afrocentric Artist: Artistic performer\, dancer\, visual artist. He mostly performs alone in improvisation and creation of stories or in the transmission of a language for other creators. His dance style is experimental storytelling. As a visual artist\, Exocé creates collages with an afro-punk/afro-futuristic/spiritual jazz touch\, that you can see exhibited in Berlin\, on vinyl covers and also on the clothes of his fashion brand. He considers himself as an Afropean because he was born in Paris of Congolese parents\, so he has a double culture. He is the artistic director of the Afro-futuristic brand KASAPIO. \nJumoke Adeyanju is a Berlin based Nigerian interdisciplinary multilingual writer\, curator and dancer. Under her alias mokeyanju\, she occasionally performs as a vinyl selector and aspiring sound artist. Jumoke is the founder of The Poetry Meets Series [est. 2014]\, co-curator of Sensitivities of Dance at SAVVY Contemporary and hosts her own radio show sauti ya àkókò on Refuge Worldwide. \nOkhiogbe Omonblanks Omonhinmin is an Nigerian archivist\, curator\, producer and creative director. He is the founder of TAC (The Art Concept) organisation\, a documentation and archive-focused platform\, interested in studying African and Black societies from community\, city and country perspectives. \nIbou Coulibaly Diop is a Berlin based Senegalese Doctor\, literary scholar\, writer and curator. He is currently working on a colonial memory concept for the Berlin Senate and is working together with Lorraine Bluche for the Berlin City Museum Foundation in the Decolonization Competence Center. In his dissertation\, in which he examines the question of globalisation and universalisation of literature in general\, In his work he is interested in the question: How we can grow together despite our differences and which approaches can be found in the literature about it. \nThomas Talawa Presto is a caribbean-norwegian artistic director. In spite of his young age\, Thomas has codified a system of body movement which is rooted in the traditional African and Caribbean movement aesthetic\, yet relevant in the contemporary. \nBabiche Papaya is a Berlin based Rwandan rapper\, actress and artist Babiche Papaya navigates through Germany’s past\, present and future. Her work deals with a wide range of topics\, from her experiences\, growing up African in the German suburbs\, to Berlin nightlife\, to calls for revolution. \nNicholas Rose is an afro-american Berlin based dancer born in West Palm Beach\, Florida. Mr. Rose trained at the Colburn Dance Academy in Los Angeles\, California and The HARID Conservatory in Boca Raton\, Florida both on full scholarship. At age 19 Mr. Rose was recruited by the Dance Theatre of Harlem\, and toured with them extensively around the world before being recruited by The National Ballet of Canada as a member of the Corps de Ballet in 2018. \nGenifer Marione Habbasch is a Berlin based afro-german actress\, presenter\, TV-show and podcast host\, born in Congo raised in Namibia and Saarbrücken. She has been involved in projects such as the Afro-German theater group "Label Noir" and Freak de l’Afrique. \nDumama\, is a South African Berlin based artist. She explores intersectionality in her transdisciplinary artistic practice allowing the structures in formlessness to simply be. Her practice involves consciously deconstructing and critiquing archaic modes of representation of Southern African/African sonic and performance culture\, while also composing music for herself and others. \nTsepo Kolitsoe Pooe is a Berlin based Student conductor and cellist from Soweto\, South Africa. Ten years ago\, he joined the South African non-profit organisation MIAGI 'Music is a great Investment' on its mission to utilise music and music education as tools for positive social development and nation-building in the spirit of Nelson Mandela. \nJuba is a Berlin based child of the Nigerian diaspora in the UK\, since 2016 Juba has been paying musical homage to her heritage as a DJ who principally showcases music from Africa and the African diaspora. \nAnele is a Berlin based DJ \,born and Raised in South Africa. Anele's sound is highly influenced by 90's music. From Kwaito(a variant of house music featuring the use of African sounds and samples that emerged in South Africa during the ‘90s) to Disco\, Soul and Hip Hop. \nAgonglo Babatunde is a Berlin based artist\, arranger\, producer and atypical composer from Benin and Nigeria. Agonglo Babatunde plays several instruments including Percussion\, Drums\, guitar. He calls his musical genre "Afro gospel". \nAdebambo Akinwale is a Berlin based musician that grew up as a child in Lagos Nigeria\, played the percussions at his local Cherubims & Seraphim Church. Later joined a charismatic movement and then progressed to other instruments\, Playing the keyboard as a major instrument. Heavily influenced by sounds from his roots such as Gospel\, Afro traditional\, Soul\, Country\, Jazz .. etc \nVenant Ntiomo is a Berlin based percussionist from Cameroon. With a mother traditional dancer\, he has been introduced from a young age to Cameroonian traditional music. Attracted by percussion that he embodies\,  he navigates within Cabaret where he crosses over different genres such as traditional\, pop\, jazz and more.  \nWilly Sahel is a chadian Berlin based musician born in N'djamena\, the Sahel zone of CHAD\, from a gospel singer mother & a passionate classical guitar father. Willy presents a special music with his roots from Moissala (in the south of Chad)\, mixes the rhythms « Klaag » & « SAYE » with Soul\, Jazz & Gospel. \nYannick Mäntele is a Berlin based trumpet player.  Is in for building community and creating spaces with music in which people can meet. Tearing down the walls of prejudices and ignorance  with the sound of trumpet just like 7 of them did in Jericho - a symbol for non violent resistance. Respect and Difference are essential in the ever evolving path of learning and understanding as the children of Moon and Sun and passengers of the spaceship earth. \nMoussa Coulibaly is a Berlin based musician born in Bobo-Dioulasso\, Burkina Faso. Part of a Griot family he has been introduced to traditional music since his birth. He plays African traditional instruments such as Ngoni\, Balafon and is also a Djembefola.
