DESCRIPTION:Montag\, April 29\, 2024\, 7:30 - 9:00 PM @ Oyoun\, Club (Souterrain) \nFilm Screening: Yamatani Tetsuo\, Okinawa no Harumoni\, 1979\, 86 min.\nUntertitel: mit englischen Untertitel \nIm Juli 1977 macht sich der Regisseur Tetsuo Yamatani auf die Suche nach koreanischen „Trostfrauen“. Er trifft dabei auf den Architekten Choi Chang-kyu\, der in Japan studiert hat. Choi wurde als Ingenieur für das japanische Kaiserreich nach China geschickt und erfuhr dort aus erster Hand von den schrecklichen Bedingungen\, denen die koreanischen Mädchen als „Trostfrauen“ ausgesetzt waren. Yamatani erhält Informationen über eine ehemalige koreanische Trostfrau\, die in Okinawa lebt\, und macht sich auf\, ihre kleine Hütte inmitten von Zuckerrohrfeldern im Süden Okinawas zu besuchen… \nDiese Veranstaltung ist vom Korea Verband e.V. mitorganisiert. \n가닥 Gadag ist ein von der Lotto Stiftung Berlin gefördertes Projekt von Oyoun\, dessen öffentliches Programm vom 24. Stock) \nEine Workshopreihe in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Korea Verband \nIm Rahmen des Projektes "가닥 GADAG – Fäden der Erinnerungen" organisieren Oyoun und der Korea Verband die offene und partizipative Kreativwerkstatt „Share Your Empathy“ für Groß und Klein.   \nTeilnehmende werden durch die multimediale Ausstellung „Unsere Körper\, unser Kampf\, unsere Geschichten“\, die in Kooperation mit Spicy Ginkgo entstanden ist\, dazu inspiriert\, selbst künstlerisch aktiv zu werden. Sie können in der Kreativwerkstatt z.B. Motive für Buttons kreieren\, Gedanken mit Kalligraphie-Pinseln auf Seidenpapier schwingen\, aus Schuhkartons Häuschen für die kleine Friedensstatue bauen oder Holzschachteln mit geheimen Geschichten verzieren. Mein Name ist Kim Bok-Dong.\, 2019\, 101 min.\nUntertitel: mit englischen Untertitel \nDas Kaiserliche japanische Militär unterhielt für seine Soldaten von 1932-1945 sogenannte „Troststationen“\, in denen unzählige junge Frauen und Mädchen aus mehreren Ländern Ost- und Südostasiens sexueller Gewalt ausgesetzt waren. In den 1990er Jahren traten zahlreiche Betroffene an die Öffentlichkeit und begründeten eine soziale Bewegung\, die für die Aufarbeitung dieser Geschichte kämpft. \nKim Bok-Dong (1926-2019) war eine dieser sogenannten Militär-„Trostfrauen“. Von 1992 bis zu ihrem Tod im Jahr 2019 engagierte sie sich unermüdlich in der Bewegung und trug als Frauenrechtlerin die Friedensbotschaft in die Welt. Der Dokumentarfilm zeigt das Leben dieser großen Kämpferin mit unbeugsamem Willen\, die noch mit 90 Jahren die Welt bereiste. Stock) \nEine Workshopreihe in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Korea Verband \nIm Rahmen des Projektes "가닥 GADAG – Fäden der Erinnerungen" organisieren Oyoun und der Korea Verband die offene und partizipative Kreativwerkstatt „Share Your Empathy“ für Groß und Klein.   \nTeilnehmende werden durch die multimediale Ausstellung „Unsere Körper\, unser Kampf\, unsere Geschichten“\, die in Kooperation mit Spicy Ginkgo entstanden ist\, dazu inspiriert\, selbst künstlerisch aktiv zu werden. Sie können in der Kreativwerkstatt z.B. Motive für Buttons kreieren\, Gedanken mit Kalligraphie-Pinseln auf Seidenpapier schwingen\, aus Schuhkartons Häuschen für die kleine Friedensstatue bauen oder Holzschachteln mit geheimen Geschichten verzieren. Schwere traumatische Erinnerungen werden so kollektiv zu neuen GADAG verflochten. \n가닥 Gadag ist ein von der Lotto Stiftung Berlin gefördertes Projekt von Oyoun\, dessen öffentliches Programm vom 24. März bis 30. April 2024 stattfindet. Es besteht aus drei Kapiteln\, die sich gleichzeitig entfalten: Strands (Fäden\, Video- und Multimedia-Ausstellung)\, Tangle (Gewirr\, Laboratorium) und Knots (Knoten\, Begleitveranstaltungen und Programm). \nBarrierefreiheit:\n- Der Seminarraum 2 befindet sich im 1. Stock und ist über die Treppe oder den Aufzug erreichbar. \n- Als Sitzmöglichkeiten stehen Stühle\, Bänke\, Sitzsäcke und Sitzkissen zur Verfügung.\n- Auf der 2. Etage\, neben dem Saal befinden sich Rückzugsorte.\n- Das barrierefreie WC im 1. Stock) \nEin Workshop zum Empowerment durch visuelles Storytelling mit Tauben Menschen. Dieser Workshop zielt darauf ab\, verschiedene Tools zu verwenden\, um die gelebten Erfahrungen von Tauben Menschen zu dokumentieren und zu vermitteln. \nDer Workshop wird von der Tauben Aktivist*innen Hyemi\, My-Le\, Mimi\, Mai und Le Dan geleitet und richtet sich ausschließlich an Taube Personen. \nFür die Teilnahme schickt uns eine kurze Nachricht an dami@oyoun.de. \n\n Hyemi Jo (she/her): I come from South Korea and I am Deaf. I work as an artist\, activist\, and web designer in Berlin. I am engaged in political activities that enhance the visibility and strengthen the voices of the Deaf community. April: 15:30-18:00 Uhr \n„Unsere Körper\, unser Kampf\, unsere Geschichten“ \nEine partizipative Ausstellung von  In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Korea Verband und Spicy Ginkgo Collective \nKriege und Konflikte hinterlassen tiefe Spuren in der Geschichte und in den Erinnerungen der Menschen. Doch welche Geschichten werden erzählt und welche bleiben ungesagt? Wer wird in Denkmälern und Gedenkstätten gewürdigt\, und wessen Leiden werden übersehen? Und wer erhebt seine Stimme\, um das Schweigen zu brechen und die Geschichten derjenigen ans Licht zu bringen\, die oft vergessen werden? \nIn der Ausstellung “Unsere Körper\, unser Kampf\, unsere Geschichten” zeigen wir die verbindende Kraft der Friedensstatue in Berlin-Moabit\, einer Gedenkstätte für „Trostfrauen”. „Trostfrauen” wurden im asiatisch-pazifischen Raum während des Zweiten Weltkriegs von der japanischen Kaiserlichen Armee sexuell versklavt und mussten während des Krieges als „Trostfrauen“ dienen und Soldaten „trösten“.  \nDie Friedensstatue ist somit auch ein Mahnmal gegen sexualisierte Gewalt in Kriegszeiten\, das transnationale Bewegungen\, marginalisierte Communities und städtische Nachbarschaften zusammenbringt. Generationenübergreifend formt sie durch ihre Präsenz Dialoge über Verstrickungen\, die schwer aufzudröseln sind: Kolonialismus und sexualisierte Gewalt\, Schweige- und Schamkulturen\, antikoloniale Bewegungsgeschichte und feministischer Widerstand. \nVerschiedene Arbeiten und Objekte dokumentieren in der Ausstellung wie die Friedensstatue durch ihre nahbare Unmittelbarkeit im Stadtbild Menschen in Bewegung setzt und zum Sprechen bringt: \nIn Form von Film und Installation werden künstlerische Ergebnisse aus der langjährigen Arbeit des Korea Verbands mit Jugendlichen\, die diesen Fragen in der Behandlung der Geschichte der sogenannten „Trostfrauen“ nachgegangen sind. Die Friedensstatue fungiert dabei als pädagogisches Medium\, um die Komplexität der Themen Kolonialismus und sexualisierte Gewalt zu vermitteln. Es wird das Schweigen der Betroffenen wegen Scham und Schuldgefühlen sowie das Leugnen des Verbrechens durch die Täter thematisiert. Neben der historischen Aufarbeitung zielt die Arbeit mit Jugendlichen auch darauf ab\, das Bewusstsein für sexualisierte Gewalt in vergangenen und aktuellen Kriegssituationen sowie in den eigenen Lebenswelten der Jugendlichen zu schärfen. Durch die Arbeit soll den Jugendlichen der Mut\, das Schweigen zu brechen\, und die Empathie für Betroffene vermittelt werden. \nIm interaktiven Part der Ausstellung präsentiert das Spicy Ginkgo Kollektiv das aktivistische Netzwerk\, das sich seit 2020 um die Friedensstatue gesponnen hat: als antikoloniales und feministisches Mahnmal ist sie zentraler Bezugspunkt für verschiedene politische Kämpfe. Soziale Bewegungen und marginalisierte Communities kehren immer wieder zu ihr zurück\, um ihre Anliegen in die Öffentlichkeit Berlins – und weit darüber hinaus – zu tragen. Der Friedensstatue und ihnen ist der Kampf gegen die Verdrängung von Gewalterfahrungen aus kollektiven Gedächtnissen sowie die Adressierung gegenwärtiger Unrechtsverhältnisse gemein. DESCRIPTION:Afterparty for the Art-ish exhibition and auction happening in the café. \nTicket: 5.- €\nRoom: Club \n--- \nThis event is part of the Threads of Resilience Festival \nGiven the current situation and urgency to express\, we decided to co-organise a community-led and collectively curated 3-day festival “Threads of Resilience” from 14-16 December at Oyoun.Those include a press conference\, bazaar\, panels\, film screening\, talks\, exhibition\, workshops\, concerts\, healing session\, theater\, puppet show for children\, and parties. With this festival\, we want to reflect on and learn from movements of resistance\, resilience\, and solidarity across the world and come together for three days of ephemerality and collaborative archiving. We want to address and speak out against repression\, silencing\, instrumentalisation\, and division. We need to continue to empower\, promote\, and celebrate pluralistic perspectives from\, with\, and intersectionally marginalised communities.Admission is based on free donation (nobody will be denied entry if they cannot donate). In 2015 he went through the asylum journey process in order to reach Sweden\, and in 2022 he relocated to Berlin. The Palestinian-Syrian environment has always influenced Ebn Hoari's work\, The outcome was a collection of politically and socially heavy subjects reflected his views and beliefs. For him freedom is indivisible and the intersectionality of daily fight is a necessity\, personal is political and political is personal. Ebn Hoari's approach is defined by a balance of harmony in adapting the language and rhythm to transform rap from being a musical product to a living human experience shared by Arabic speakers. He has a musical and poetic sense that contribute to the creation of work in which the listener enjoys the beauty of music while also cultivating a desire to explore the folds of language and underlying meanings. \nMaii&Zeid \nThe Arabic indie pop duo\, Maii Waleed a singer\, songwriter and guitarist from Alexandria - Egypt\, and Zeid Hamdan a producer from Beirut - Lebanon\, met in 2010 during Hamdan’s short visit to Alexandria. Maii & Zeid performances are lively\, the two coming from a very different age background\, manage to result in a great on stage balance. Maii with her guitar and vocals and Hamdan on synthesizers and electronics\, combined are the best of live concerts energy that the Arab region offered to the music scene in the past few years. \nLeila Moon \nDJ Leila Moon is a Songwriter\, Producer and DJ specialising in funk\, disco\, raï\, gnawa\, afrobeat\, r’n’b\, mahraganat\, electronic and house! Her eclectic music style is a culmination of her collective influences and intercultural experiences. Born to an Algerian mother and Morrocan father\, she grew up watching anime and bollywood\, listening to raï music\, arab pop\, french chansons\, american folk and jazz. By songwriting and producing\, music connected her with her roots and the desire to share it with others molded her identity. Today she enjoys sharing tracks with sounds from all around the world\, focusing on different genres in arabic music. Throughout the set her identity is reflected in the form of energetic musical storytelling. In addition to DJing\, her creative calling is in producing her own music and collaborating with other artists. \nsherryaeri \nMusic and party sherryaeri considers highly political and tries to present artists as well as genres that don't get as much space as they should and mixes them with Arabic sounds. They therefore locate themselves in the category "genrefluid" and take us through different genres just to name a few: Rap Edits\, Jersey Club\, Baile Funk and Electro Chaabi. Through this\, sherryaeri manages to give us a sense of belonging and celebrate our multidimensional realities. Thus\, sherryaeri already enchanted the masses internationally at festivals like Splash in Germany\, clubs like Yuyu in Mexico City or renowned events like Hoe_mies. How would you want to be remembered? Delovie Kwagala aka Papa De is a filmmaker\, activist and photographer. As such\, they use the camera to create images that are necessary for their own becoming. The short film THAT UGANDAN FLAMING HOMOSEXUAL tells the story of growing up in Uganda from a personal perspective. Meanwhile\, the country\, its government\, is notorious for persecuting homosexuals; draconian punishments - in 2023\, President Yoweri Museveni signed an anti-homosexual law that amounts to a death threat - an atmosphere of fear and constant repression characterize everyday life. According to Delovie Kwagala aka Papa De\, the film tells a story "about my constant becoming\, rooted in my traumatic experience of growing up 'different' but never knowing what 'different' meant. The film tells the story of navigating my sexuality and identity through a homophobic society to eventually become the first openly non-binary queer photographer in Uganda. It shows how my anger and hunger to be heard and seen transforms into my activism and commitment to a collective articulation of African queerness and resilience. Her moving image installations have been shown internationally. Throughout Breitz’s career\, she has explored the dynamics by means of which an individual becomes him or herself in relation to a larger community\, be that the immediate community that one encounters in family\, or the real and imagined communities that are shaped not only by questions of national belonging\, race\, gender and religion\, but also by the increasingly undeniable influence of mainstream media such as television\, cinema and other popular culture. Most recently\, Breitz’s work has focused on the conditions under which empathy is produced\, reflecting on a media-saturated global culture in which strong identification with fictional characters and celebrity figures runs parallel to widespread indifference to the plight of those facing real world adversity. In 2022\, she completed The White Noise Trilogy \, a trio of multichannel video installations that includes Love Story (2016)\, TLDR (2017) and Whiteface (2022). \nEmilia Roig \nEmilia Roig (she/her) is the Founder and Executive Director of the Berlin-based Center for Intersectional Justice (CIJ)\, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting justice\, equality and a life free from systemic oppression for all. Her experience growing up in a multiracial Algerian-Jewish-Martinique family in France shaped her commitment and passion for intersectional social justice. Emilia is a faculty member of DePaul University of Chicago's Social Justice Study Abroad Program and has taught graduate and postgraduate courses in Intersectional Theory\, Postcolonial Studies\, Critical Race Theory\, Queer Feminism\, and International and European Law at universities across Europe. She holds a PhD in Political Science\, a Masters of Public Policy and an MBA in International Law. Before her doctorate\, she worked extensively on human rights issues at the UN in Tanzania and Uganda\, at the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Cambodia and at Amnesty International in Germany - and decided to leave the field of "development" to focus on focus on social justice in Europe. Emilia has also given numerous keynotes\, lectures and interviews at major conferences and events and was a jury member for the German Non-Fiction Prize 2020 and the 25 Women Award of Edition F in 2019 and was named an Ashoka Fellow in 2020. \nIris Hefets \nIris Hefets was born in Israel and has lived in Berlin for 21 years. Resistance through art is as old as time itself\, with communication and expressions at its core. When we feel silenced and repressed\, we might find comfort and understanding in the creative realm. We can challenge authority through images in ways texts cannot.  \nWhen the world is responding to the deaths of Palestinian lives and the ongoing genocide\, we can respond with our art. Artwork can also be about showcasing joy or normal moments because joy is a form of resistance. While fighting systemic issues\, we’ve been denied joy\, a critical part of living life. How can we bear witness to the unbearable? \nThis workshop won’t answer all the questions\, but it brings us and the wealth of wisdom and experience together - the ones that have come before us and ourselves - in order to build endurance for the long term vision of dismantling imperialism and the various intersecting forms of oppressions. This mini seminar is about exchanging what helps and practicing simple techniques that are effective in order to better cope with all of these symptoms and to be better able to be present for each other and remain able to act together. Trauma therapist Anna Hoffmann is convinced that trauma is always linked to systemic injustice and that it usually makes sense to approach it collectively. DESCRIPTION:Organised by Jamila Al-Yousef  \nIn this workshop we will connect with our grandmothers through games and writing exercises. Under which circumstances did they grew up and became the women* who brought our parents into the world? SUMMARY:Threads of Resilience | Workshop |  Exploring Black Lives Matter Protest Performance - a collective reading of The Interrogation of Sandra Bland
DESCRIPTION:Organised by Oyoun \nWith Mojisola Adebayo \nTheatre artist\, playwright and academic\, Mojisola Adebayo\, will briefly share about some of the artistic / activist work she has been making over the past 30 years and invite you to be part of that work\, through a collective reading of the Black Lives Matter protest play\, performance\, memorial and ritual entitled\, The Interrogation of Sandra Bland. This verbatim play is based on a transcript of the dashcam recording of the unjust arrest of Sandra Bland in Texas in 2013\, which led to her untimely death in Police custody. The play was first performed at Bush Theatre\, London and Goodman Theatre Chicago\, by over 100 Black women and women of colour. This collective reading\, which has the blessing of Sandra Bland's family\, will be followed by a short discussion.  \nTickets: Donation-based\nRegistration: no registration needed\, first come first served\nLanguage: English\nRoom: R1: Galerie Lameck \nBiography \nMojisola Adebayo is a Black British performer\, playwright\, director\, producer\, workshop leader and teacher of Nigerian (Yoruba) and Danish origin. \nTrained in Theatre of the Oppressed and Physical Theatre\, Mojisola has worked internationally in theater\, television and radio for over twenty-five years\, from Antarctica to Zimbabwe. Mojisola has been teaching in academia since 1998\, mainly at Goldsmiths\, University of London\, Department of Theatre and Performance. During her fellowship at the University of Potsdam between 2020 and 2022\, she undertook research on ‘White Climate: Afriquia Theatre Literatures and Agri/cultural Practices’. \nHer latest play\, Family Tree\, is a play\, a performance\, a ritual\, about human farming\, farming humans\, soil and the soul\, seeds and cells.
