DESCRIPTION:Kuratiert von Mai El-Gammal \nNach der ersten Vorführung am 22.09. setzt die Kuratorin Mai El-Gammal ihre Erkundung der Dialektik zwischen Film und Landwirtschaft fort und enthüllt ein unerforschtes Terrain\, in dem Kunstfertigkeit und Ernährung zusammentreffen\, um ein tieferes Verständnis für beide Praktiken zu schaffen und eine gemeinsame Wertschätzung für den intrinsischen Wert des Geschichtenerzählens und der natürlichen Welt zu fördern. \nFilm: A Flood in Baath Country\, Regie: Omar Amiralay (2002\, 52 Minuten) \nDer Dokumentarfilm erforscht die Auswirkungen der Politik der Baath-Partei in Syrien. Ohne Kommentar oder Kritik deckt Amiralays Film die Propaganda der Baath-Partei und ihre lähmenden Auswirkungen auf die Menschen im Dorf al-Mashi\, 400 Kilometer nordöstlich von Damaskus\, auf. Der Film bewegt sich langsam von den Schüler*innen über die Lehrer*innen bis hin zu den Regierungsbeamt*innen\, wobei alle genau das gleiche Lob für den Präsidenten und die Baath-Partei verherrlichende Slogans aufsagen. In this unique performance\, traditional Joik singing\, poetry\, mask dance and contemporary dance are combined to create an impressive work. The aim is to educate the audience about the socio-political situation in Sápmi and at the same time to make them think. This performance intervention combines artistic expression with an important social concern and conveys the important message about the challenges and resilience of the Sámi community. \n*These letters have many meanings\, one of which is "čájet sámi vuoiŋŋa"\, which translates as "showing the Sami spirit" and is often used to promote Sami identity and activism. \n:: 16:30-19:00 Talks and Film Screening at Oyoun \n16:30-17:20 Panel Talk: “Power Production's Impact on Indigenous Way of Life” with Asta Mitkijá Balto\, Elisabeth Heilman Blind and Liv Aira\nThis panel talk focuses on the impact of modern energy generation on indigenous lifestyles\, culture and connection to nature. It addresses noise pollution from power generation and its impact on natural sounds in nature. Special attention is given to Germany\, which buys electricity from Norwegian and Swedish Sápmi.\nThe discussion will highlight the destruction of traditional nature by wind turbines\, changes in wildlife behaviour and their impact on reindeer herders. Likewise\, the coal and mineral mines in Gallock and controversial construction projects in Finnmark that threaten traditional Sámi land and nature will be addressed in order to improve Norway's carbon footprint instead of using existing technologies to remove CO2. \n17:30-18:20 Presentation: “Indigenizing the Arts” by Asta Mitkijá Balto with Q&A\nIn her lecture\, Asta Mitkijá Balto gives a concise overview of the situation of the indigenous Sámi in Norway\, with a special focus on Sámi art and its important role in the preservation of Sámi society. Through images and examples of Sámi art\, she illustrates the journey of liberation from colonisation by showing how Sámi art serves as a reflection and critique of social issues\, evoking emotions that politics and science often cannot reach. As a young yoiker\, he toured with well-known yoikers such as Nils Aslak Valkeapää at home and abroad. He has worked on various cultural projects\, including the Sámi theatre in Kiruna and film productions\, and has travelled the Nordic countries as a storyteller. \nMarika Renhuvud\nMarika Renhuvud is a dancer and choreographer from Sweden's southernmost Sámi community\, Idre Sameby\, and now lives in Funäsdalen. She has trained at the New Education for Contemporary Dance and the Ballet Academy in Stockholm\, and has a diploma in didactics from the University of Dance and Circus.  Marika has been working as a dancer and choreographer since 2018 and founded the company RenhuvudDans AB in 2023. Marika's dream is to spread knowledge and understanding of Sámi culture through dance\, and is committed to spreading knowledge of her Sámi heritage.  All her dance pieces are based on or contain thoughts and ideas that originate from Sámi culture. \nLiv Aira \nLiv Aira is a dancer and choreographer who often refers to her Sámi heritage in her art. Since 2017\, she has been the founder and artistic director of Invisible People Contemporary Dance Company\, with whom she is currently touring with Ájttega and Akti Lij. She is the initiator of the Låvda - Sápmi Screendance Festival and the indigenous cultural festival Skájdde in the Storforsen nature reserve. She is currently establishing the world's first Sámi dance centre in northern Sweden outside Jokkmokk. She has a BA degree in dance and an MA degree in choreography from the Institute of Arts in Barcelona. \nLuis Bogado\nLuis Bogado\, known as "Enano\," is a versatile artist who has seamlessly merged his 14 years of karate expertise with a passion for hip-hop dance\, notably Breaking. This fusion has birthed his distinctive Latin-Style dance. Over two decades\, Enano has mastered various dance forms\, taught internationally\, and represented Venezuela in numerous competitions and cultural festivals. He's also a co-founder of the Foundation "Manzanoarte\," promoting social circus and the performing arts in Venezuela. The workshop uses the "café method"\, an informal group work technique that replicates the welcoming atmosphere of a café. In a world where female sexuality is taboo\, mainly because society is still fixed in a patriarchal and sexist system\, this character breaks standards and conduct. She is the owner of her destiny. She is Brazilian of Afro-Indigenous descent and deals with themes related to her ancestry. She creates spiritual\, emotional\, poetical\, and critical experiences inside the artistic context. In her work\, she uses textiles and costumes in combination with installations and rituals to access different states of the body and the mind. In this mask dance workshop\, participants will be introduced to the historical significance of the mask dance and gain insights into its basic elements\, which are based on animistic thinking. In addition\, the workshop offers an introduction and lecture on the Greenlandic drum dance that will be practised during the session. She trained as an actress at the Tukak Theatre in Denmark from 1983-1988\, during which time she studied Butoh dance and Noh theatre in Japan. Elisabeth works as an actress in various theatres\, including Giron Sámi Teáhter in Sweden. Darüber hinaus erwarb sie einen Master in Global Studies an der Universität Basel. Under her supervision and care\, Maurice dug through the crates of his grandma's record collection\, was reprimanded for tagging (writing) names in Crayola on walls\, watched other family members perform acrobatic dance moves at cook-outs\, listened to Muhammad Ali kick rhymes predicting his knockouts\, and resampled his aunts and uncles' fashion aesthetics. As a result\, Maurice was consistently provided with an openness to be creative and courageous in discovering self-identity and expression. In response\, filmmakers and artists are shedding light on the multifaceted aspects of post-colonialism\, exploring its impact on the landscape and the bodies of laborers toiling in the fields. \nThis screening by the curator Savannah Garcia offers diverse perspectives on this subject\, all with the shared goal of revealing the social\, political\, and environmental realities through the narratives of laborers\, farmers\, social workers\, and scholars. The film loops on a ritual of fire ensues\, as a small barrel lined with joss paper is lit seemingly with the touch of flesh. She persues her research in Berlin\, on the relation between home (foyer) and nation in global history. DESCRIPTION:Harvesting Resilience – a workshop series by Zeren Oruc \nThis workshop series gives you the opportunity to rethink your relationship with nature\, food and consumption. You will be able to connect with different people in an exchange of skill\, knowledge and thoughts.  \nWhat is this workshop about? \nHarvesting Resilience workshops series are part of a long-term research project focusing on the food-land-culture relationship to examine the impact of our food production and consumption habits on the environment\, land degradation\, and forms of exploitation. Curated by Zeren Oruc\, the project looks at how we eat our land\, our cultural and emotional connection to food based on where it’s grown\, and less extractivist practices such as disappearing knowledge of foraging\, food banks\, gardens\, and more. \nBy using foraging and guerilla gardening in “community gardens” as one of the artistic and curatorial methodologies\, the workshops intend to decolonize and reclaim urban landscapes and ecological narratives from the lens of BIPOC and people with migration backgrounds. While tackling mainstream Western environmentalism that dismisses indigenous and migrant knowledge\, we want to relearn and share our knowledge in relation to the plant world and form new connections where we feel safe in nature. To facilitate the generation of this intergenerational and intercultural knowledge\, we invite participants to join us\, along with their elders*\, in remapping Berlin’s foraging paths and sharing their experiences. \nThe workshops will be guided by curator Zeren Oruc\, who is revisiting her place in gardening and foraging after relocating to Berlin\, and horticulturist\, forager\, herbalist\, and kochende Gärtnerin Lea Nassim Tajbakhsh. On the first day of the workshop\, we will go on a guided foraging tour where we get to know each other and share our knowledge. On the second day\, we will meet at Oyoun’s community garden for an intimate discussion about food\, and belonging in nature\, and revisit the idea of community gardens through guerilla gardening principles. The workshop dates are: 1) September 9-10\, 2) September 29 and October 1\, 3) October 28-29. \n*The term “elders” here refers to older individuals who possess wisdom and knowledge to share and are not limited to family. She has curated exhibitions and projects that illuminate the complexities of contemporary environmental awareness and rural ecology. \nZeren is co-founder of the Montemero Art Residency in Almeria\, Spain\, which focuses on alternative art production and land-based practices. Through a diverse range of workshops\, the aim is to connect decolonial knowledge and artistic practices with marketing\, design\, and knowledge dissemination. \nFourth stop: @ Korea Verband (Quitzowstraße 103\, 10551 Berlin) | The exact stop ist at Friedensstatue (Bremer Str. 41\, 10551 Berlin) \n*** \nThe project "Archive-in-the-making for Statue of Peace" aims to present the Statue of Peace as a vivid place of resistance and encounter for marginalized communities in Berlin on the 30.09.2023. With a one-day program in the Tiny OyoUnity project including a participatory installation in the Tiny House\, existing relationships of solidarity and self-organization will be made visible\, and open the space for new encounters. \nThe participatory exhibition will gather the work of political initiatives of marginalized\, racialized communities\, especially Asian diasporic groups\, in collaboration with local initiatives\, (post-)migrant (self-)organizations and community members. September werden anlässlich des Release der Hörspielserie DESIRE und ihres Soundtracks LGBTQIA+ Sexarbeiter*innen gefeiert. \nMit Performances von: Aka Kelzz\, Alice Danger\, Antonio Herrera\, Bendix\, Breezy\, Bunny B. Blaq\, Caxxianne\, Elio Coulibaly\, Emilian\, Kumi\, Lexi Dark\, Puck Ellington und Sanni Est. \nDer Eintritt zu diesem Abend basiert auf freien Spenden und alle Einnahmen gehen vollständig an Sex Worker Organisationen. \nDESIRE ist die Fortsetzung der Ausstellung EXISTING AND LONGING (2022) – einem intimen Portrait von über 30 queeren Sexarbeiter*innen aus 14 verschiedenen Ländern\, die in deutschen Großstädten in unterschiedlichen Bereichen der Sexindustrie arbeiten. He's sex positive\, a tired activist\, lover of bdsm and retro video games\, and a life-long student of marginalised thinking. In every little thing they do there’s some art and caring to be found. \nBreezy \nIf Audre Lorde was a rapper\, Breezy would be the embodiment because the non-binary artist’s hip hop takes on topics like racial identity\, gender politics\, sex positivity\, and queerness. Breezy represents the fluidity in the gray area between “man” and “woman” or “Black” and “white.”  \nBunny B. Blaq \nA queer\, asexual\, Black femme performer from the Caribbean\, Bunny considers herself a humble lover and student of song\, dance\, and the dark arts of cabaret\, such as drag and burlesque. \nCaxxianne \nJamaican-born\, Cayman Islands-raised\, Award-winning contemporary hip-hop and neo-soul artist\, songwriter\, and MC\, Caxxianne has been honing her skills on stages across Europe since 2018 and has not stopped since.  \nElio Coulibaly  \nElio Coulibaly (he/it) is a Berlin based non binary\, Afro-Scandinavian\, dancer\, multidisciplinary artist\, community organizer and educator. \nEmilian \nEmilian has been a sex worker for 13 years\, from stripping to escorting to erotic massages and more. They like to express their thoughts and feelings about the job in a fun and empathetic way through zines\, books\, poems and performances and share their knowledge and experiences in workshops for other sex workers.  \nKumi \nKumi is a Hamburg based Black\, fat full service sex worker with great pleasure in words and sea. Lives Pride in all identity aspects and loves to share these pleasures.  \nLexi Dark \nLexi Dark\, also known as Frau Dark is a Berlin based Showgirl and Dom*natrx. Her performances are an exploration of high femme fatale and sublime fusion of dark fantasy and alluring performance. \n\nLoud Lemons \nLOUD LEMONS is an absurdist prototype of Disco-Dub “à la French”: Intended to add zest and well-being to Pop music. To squeeze acidity all the way… \nPuck Ellington \nPuck (she|they) is a performer and artist based in Berlin with a focus in feminist\, lesbian and post porn and writing. A touch of etherealism wrapped in earthly form.  \nSanni Est \nSanni Est is a singer\, performer and transmedia artist based in Berlin who challenges notions of knowledge\, reason\, normativity\, and beauty with her voice and presence. Classically trained in Brazil as a singer and semiotician\, Sanni has long since fucked with an education grounded in white\, heteropatriarchal\, christian and colonial values. \n  \nDie Realisierung der Veranstaltung wird durch Mittel der DKLB-Stiftung ermöglicht. DESCRIPTION:*Bitte beachtet\, dass die Ausstellung nicht nur im Oyoun stattfindet\, sondern an verschiedenen Orten in ganz Berlin* \nKuratiert von Arijit Bhattacharyya | Mit Arbeiten von Studio 33/3 (Soumik Ghosh\, Shibayan Halder\, Suvojit Roy)\, Devadeep Gupta\, Binita Limbani\, Swagata Bhattacharyya und Mahi Ghane \nDas von Arijit Bhattacharyya kuratierte Projekt "Species\, Soil and Successors" präsentiert sieben audiovisuelle Arbeiten von Studio 33/3 (Soumik Ghosh\, Shibayan Halder\, Suvojit Roy)\, Devadeep Gupta\, Binita Limbani\, Swagata Bhattacharyya\, Mahi Ghane auf Glasfronten in verschiedenen öffentlichen Räumen Berlins. Vom 29. September bis 26. Oktober werden die Arbeiten unter anderem im Oyoun Berlin (Lucy-Lameck-Str. 32)\, Bubbletea World (Kottbusser Damm 29-30)\, Drinks & Bottles (Maybachufer 1)\, Grimm-Zentrum (Geschwister-Scholl-Straße 3) und SPÄTKAUF (Reinickendorfer Str. 18A) präsentiert. \nDie ausgestellten audiovisuellen Arbeiten erforschen verschiedene sozioökonomische\, historische und kulturelle Kontexte\, die von den Folgen der Urbanisierung in Kalkutta bis hin zur Wasserknappheit in den Slums reichen\, und befassen sich mit der Gefährdung des Großen Adjutantenvogels\, der komplexen Beziehung zwischen dem Brahmaputra-Fluss und den Gemeinden in Assam\, der historischen Bedeutung des Tapti-Flusses in Surat und schließlich der Verschmutzung des Flusses Ganga in Kalkutta aufgrund der unregulierten Urbanisierung. \nJede audiovisuelle Arbeit dient als Portal und bietet Einblicke in die verborgenen Facetten des Lebens - Ereignisse\, die sich direkt um uns herum abspielen\, aber oft unbemerkt bleiben. Jedes Stück ist eine ferne Insel\, verstreut und doch miteinander verbunden im weiten Ozean der verschiedenen Lebenserfahrungen\, die zusammen einen reichen Teppich der Existenz bilden. \n“Species\, Soil and Successors” verwebt die verschiedenen Berliner Bezirke: Neukölln\, Kreuzberg\, Mitte und Wedding\, jeder mit seinen eigenen kontrastreichen Lebensbedingungen\, historischen Kontexten und städtischen Infrastrukturen. (Grimm-Zentrum) \nIn "Moving Forest" tritt Shibayan Halder als Bote der ausgelöschten Wälder in verschiedenen öffentlichen Räumen von Kolkata (dem kolonialen Kronjuwel der britischen Kolonie in Indien) auf. Die Arbeit geht auf die Performance-Praktiken der Bahurupi zurück. Bahurupis sind Künstler*innen\, die über einzigartige Fähigkeiten in der Kunst der Verkörperung verfügen. Diese aus verschiedenen Regionen Indiens\, Bangladeschs und Nepals stammenden traditionellen Darsteller*innen beherrschen es\, sich schnell in verschiedene Charaktere zu verwandeln und das Publikum mit ihren schnellen Kostümwechseln und bemerkenswerten schauspielerischen Fähigkeiten zu fesseln. Eine Strategie des Geschichtenerzählens\, die Tausende von Jahren zurückreicht.  \nSuvojit Roy\, Waterpark\, 6:21\, 2023. (SPÄTKAUF) \nSuvojit Roys "Waterpark" basiert auf der langjährigen Beschäftigung mit der Wasserknappheit in den Slums von Kalkutta. Als Geflüchtete aus dem Befreiungskrieg in Bangladesch im Jahr 1971 konnten Roys Eltern wie Tausende andere nur informelle Siedlungen ohne grundlegende Infrastrukturen wie den Zugang zu Wasser errichten. Roy entwickelt einen auf Malerei basierenden Videoessay mit verschiedenen Interviews\, die in verschiedenen Slums in Kolkata aufgenommen wurden\, wo Wasser bis heute ein Traum ist. \nSoumik Ghosh\, Vote for Hargila\, 7:38\, 2023. (Bubbletea World) \n "Vote for Hargila" ist eine Geschichte über den vom Aussterben bedrohten Vogel Greater Adjutant. Soumik Ghosh begegnet dem Vogel auf sarkastische Weise in verschiedenen historischen Zeitlinien. Von der Vergangenheit bis zur Zukunft untersucht er\, wie der Vogel durch größere politische Veränderungen ersetzt wird. \nMahi G\, Vikasach Khul\, 2:47\, 2023. (Grimm-Zentrum) \n"Vikasach Khul" ist eine beredte musikalische Reflexion der indischen Künstlerin Mahi Ghane AKA Mahi G\, die die Folgen der wahllosen Verstädterung im Namen der Entwicklung aufzeigt. Durch lyrisches Geschichtenerzählen ruft der Song sein Publikum dazu auf\, die Augen für die Wunder der Natur zu öffnen und den Weg des so genannten Fortschritts zu überdenken\, der uns von unseren Wurzeln entfernt. Die Komposition taucht in eine Zeit ein\, in der die Menschheit untrennbar mit der Erde verbunden war\, in der Nahrung und Kleidung aus demselben Land bezogen wurden und die Menschen harmonisch mit den Lebewesen der Natur koexistierten.\nDa die Verstädterung jedoch unaufhaltsam voranschreitet\, beklagt das Lied die Art und Weise\, wie wir uns von der natürlichen Welt entfernen\, da Beton-Dschungel das üppige Grün und die unberührten Gewässer ersetzen. Diese Modernisierung geht einher mit der Zerstörung von Ökosystemen\, der Vertreibung indigener Gemeinschaften und der Verwandlung einst blühender Dörfer in Betonwüsten. Der Song ist ein leidenschaftliches Plädoyer dafür\, aus diesem entwicklungsbedingten Schlummer aufzuwachen und die komplizierte Verbindung zwischen Mensch und Umwelt zu erkennen.\n"Vikasach Khul" unterstreicht die Notwendigkeit\, diese Verbindung wiederherzustellen\, und fordert die Menschen auf\, die Unantastbarkeit der Natur zu schätzen. Es fordert uns auf zu erkennen\, dass der wahre Fortschritt in einer nachhaltigen Entwicklung liegt\, in der Natur und Mensch in Harmonie koexistieren. Indem der Song die Folgen unseres Handelns beleuchtet und uns an unsere Pflicht zum Schutz der Umwelt erinnert\, wird er zu einem eindringlichen Aufruf zum Handeln\, der uns zu einem ausgewogeneren und verantwortungsvolleren Entwicklungsansatz auffordert. Auf diese Weise unterstreicht er\, wie wichtig es ist\, nicht nur unser Ökosystem\, sondern auch unsere gemeinsame Menschlichkeit zu bewahren. \nDevadeep Gupta\, Absent River\, 13 Minuten\, 2021. (Grimm-Zentrum) \nWas geschieht\, wenn die unaufhaltsame Kraft der Natur auf die unverrückbare Entschlossenheit des Menschen trifft?\nDer Brahmaputra stellt in der soziokulturellen Realität Assams eine enge Beziehung der Widersprüche her. Trotz der verheerenden Natur der Überschwemmungen leben die Gemeinschaften weiterhin in der Nähe der Flussufer\, manchmal aufgrund historischer und emotionaler Bindungen\, manchmal aus Mangel an finanzieller Freiheit oder unmittelbarer Wahlmöglichkeit.\nOhne die fehlende Wahlmöglichkeit ist der Einzelne gezwungen\, sich den wiederholten Folgen einer Entscheidung zu stellen\, die nicht ganz in seiner Hand liegt\, und die Situation wird ad absurdum geführt\, da die Folgen als selbstverschuldete Kollateralschäden erscheinen. Weder kann dem widerstrebenden Opfer gesagt werden\, dass es für die Folgen seiner Entscheidung\, sich am Ort der Gefahr aufzuhalten\, verantwortlich ist\, noch kann der Fluss als fühlend betrachtet und zu seinen Handlungen befragt werden. Dieser Konflikt führt dazu\, dass man sein Schicksal unwillkürlich in höhere Hände gibt\, und es wird relativ einfach\, die Katastrophe zu akzeptieren\, wenn die Katastrophe selbst als Teil von Gottes Spiel wahrgenommen wird.\nDie giftige und doch gedeihliche Beziehung zwischen dem Fluss und den Menschen manifestiert sich als Endlosschleife\, als die Schlange\, die ihren Schwanz frisst. Dieses unwahrscheinliche Paradoxon dient als ständiger Diskurs\, um über das oberflächliche Verständnis hinauszublicken und die vorherrschenden viktimisierten Wahrnehmungen über solche Flussufergemeinschaften in Frage zu stellen. \nBinita Limbani\, River and the City\, 20 Minuten\, 2023. (Drinks & Bottles) \nSurat\, das für seinen Textil- und Diamantenhandel bekannt ist\, hat eine reiche historische Vergangenheit\, die bis ins 15. und 16. Jahrhundert zurückreicht\, als sein Handelsmarkt florierte. Der Hafen der Stadt\, der am Fluss Tapti liegt\, war historisch bedeutsam\, denn Dynastien wie die Maurya\, Gupta und Chalukya besaßen Territorien entlang des Tapti. Während der Moghul-Ära war die Stadt ein wichtiges Handelstor. Aufgrund der Verlandung des Flusses und sich ändernder Handelsrouten verlor die Stadt jedoch an Bedeutung. Heute ist Surat ein Industrie- und Handelszentrum in Gujarat.\nDie Dokumentation der Reise des Tapti-Flusses unterstreicht seine historische Bedeutung für den Handel und das Wachstum der Siedlungen. Kulturelle Feste führen manchmal zur Verschmutzung\, da Opfergaben in den Fluss entsorgt werden. Die industrielle und städtische Entwicklung sowie die Verschmutzung haben sich negativ auf das Ökosystem und die Wasserqualität des Flusses ausgewirkt und gefährden das kulturelle Erbe. Surats wirtschaftliche Bedeutung\, seine vielfältige Kultur und seine historischen Beiträge machen die Stadt dynamisch. Die historischen Momente sind mit der Kolonialgeschichte\, den Unabhängigkeitsbewegungen und der Regierungsführung nach der Unabhängigkeit verwoben und prägen das Wachstum und die Identität der Stadt.\nDie Erstellung einer Video-Timeline zeigt den Übergang von historischen Denkmälern zu modernen Strukturen und ermöglicht es den Zuschauer*innen\, diese Veränderungen aus erster Hand mitzuerleben. Die Ausdehnung der Städte kann jedoch historischen Denkmälern schaden\, da Gebäude für neue Infrastrukturen abgerissen werden. Durch die zunehmende Verstädterung steigt auch der Grad der Umweltverschmutzung\, was die historischen Strukturen bedroht.\nIm Wesentlichen spiegelt die Entwicklung von Surat das heikle Gleichgewicht zwischen der Bewahrung des kulturellen Erbes und der Akzeptanz der Moderne wider\, während es gleichzeitig mit den Herausforderungen der Stadtentwicklung und der Umweltverschmutzung konfrontiert ist. Die Videos zielen darauf ab\, eine flüchtige Verbindung zwischen Berlin und Surat im Zusammenhang mit der bevorstehenden Katastrophe herzustellen. \nSwagata Bhattacharya\, The Catastrophe is Museumised\, 5 Minuten\, 2023. (Oyoun) \nDieses Video ist eine Dokumentation verschiedener Wasserläufe in Kalkutta\, die ihre postkoloniale Transformation nachvollzieht. Es führt den Zuschauer*innen entlang der Ufer des Flusses Ganga\, der als Hauptwasserquelle für die Stadt dient\, sowie des Adi Ganga\, eines seiner wichtigsten Nebenflüsse\, und anderer wichtiger Flüsse. Durch die Linse der Kamera fängt der Film die Essenz des städtischen Lebens ein und zeigt\, wie das\, was einst ein lebenswichtiger Fluss und eine Wasserhandelsroute war\, zu einem bloßen Abwasserkanal verkommen ist. Die unkontrollierte Verstädterung und die Entwicklungspolitik haben diesem heiligen Fluss einen hohen Tribut abverlangt und zu seiner Verschlechterung geführt.\nDas Video zeigt auch\, wie die Kanalisation in einer sich ausbreitenden Metropole wie Kalkutta zur Wasserbewirtschaftung genutzt wird. Viele dieser Wasserläufe sind in Abwassersysteme umgewandelt worden\, und die Siedlungen an ihren Ufern zeugen von den tragischen Folgen dieser ökologischen Krise des Flusses. Die Vernachlässigung und Ignoranz gegenüber Umweltbelangen\, gepaart mit einem gravierenden Mangel an Wasseraufbereitungsinfrastruktur\, haben ein gesundes Zusammenleben mit diesen natürlichen Gewässern unmöglich gemacht. Paradoxerweise leben viele Bewohner*innen der Stadt\, vor allem aus marginalisierten Gemeinschaften\, nicht nur an diesen verschmutzten Flüssen\, sondern sind auch auf deren empfindliches Gleichgewicht angewiesen\, um ihren Lebensunterhalt zu bestreiten. Seine Arbeiten reflektieren die sich verändernde Dynamik von Macht\, Gesellschaft und Natur in diesen ländlichen Gemeinschaften. Seine künstlerische Erkundung dreht sich um das soziopolitische Szenario der Region\, wobei er die Auswirkungen der politischen Veränderungen und der Urbanisierung auf das Leben der Menschen in diesen Dörfern und darüber hinaus berücksichtigt. Inspiriert von ortsspezifischen und volkstümlichen Begebenheiten erforscht Devadeep die komplizierte Beziehung zwischen Menschen und ihrem Land. Seine künstlerische Praxis umfasst die Bereiche Film und Skulptur und überbrückt die Kluft zwischen konzeptionellen und dokumentarischen Ansätzen. Devadeep ist aktives Mitglied von Northeast Lightbox\, einem Künstler*innwnkollektiv\, das sich der Förderung des Austauschs zwischen regionalen Archiven und zeitgenössischen Praktiken verschrieben hat. \nBinita Limbani  \nist eine bildende Künstlerin\, die derzeit in Surat\, Indien\, lebt und arbeitet. Ihre künstlerische Erkundung konzentriert sich auf den menschlichen Zustand\, wobei sie sich von Erzählungen\, Medien und persönlichen Erfahrungen inspirieren lässt. In ihrer Arbeit versucht sie\, die äußere Landschaft mit inneren Reflexionen zu verbinden und Kunstwerke zu schaffen\, die gleichzeitig persönlich und sozial sind. Als vielseitige Künstlerin arbeitet Binita mit verschiedenen Medien\, die es ihr ermöglichen\, ihre Ideen und Konzepte durch unterschiedliche künstlerische Formen auszudrücken. Diese Vielseitigkeit ermöglicht es ihr\, sich mit einem breiten Spektrum an künstlerischen Diskursen auseinanderzusetzen und mit verschiedenen Methoden zu experimentieren. Ein besonderes Interessengebiet von Binita ist der Tapi-Fluss und seine historischen Verbindungen zu Handel\, Gesellschaft und seinem heutigen Zustand. In ihrer künstlerischen Praxis untersucht sie die Rolle des Tapi-Flusses bei der Gestaltung lokaler Gemeinschaften\, die Auswirkungen von Handel und Gewerbe sowie den aktuellen Zustand des Flusses in der heutigen Gesellschaft. \nSwagata Bhattacharyya  \nist ein bildender Künstler aus Kolkata\, Indien. In seiner Arbeit geht es um spekulative Erzählungen\, die die bestehenden Machtstrukturen und ihre Auswirkungen auf unsere Welt untersuchen. Swagata setzt verschiedene Medien wie Zeichnung\, Fotografie und computergenerierte Bilder (CGI) ein\, um simulierte Welten zu schaffen. Indem er diese alternativen Realitäten konstruiert\, untersucht er\, wie Machtstrukturen die Politik beeinflussen und die zukünftigen Landschaften der Architektur\, des Städtebaus\, der Technologie und der hergestellten Umgebungen gestalten. Seine künstlerische Untersuchung der Überschneidungen von Macht\, Governance und räumlicher Organisation beleuchtet die Beziehung zwischen der Gesellschaft und ihrer gebauten Umwelt. Swagata untersucht\, wie sich hyper-nationalistische Ideologien auf Gesellschaften und Ökosysteme auswirken\, und konzentriert sich dabei besonders auf deren Auswirkungen auf die Umweltzerstörung. Swagata versucht\, das komplexe Geflecht von Einflüssen zu entwirren\, die unser Verständnis von und unsere Reaktionen auf ökologische Herausforderungen prägen. \nMahi Ghane  \nist eine Dalit-Hip-Hop-Künstlerin aus Maharashtra\, Indien\, deren kraftvolle Texte und hypnotisierende Beats in der unabhängigen Musikszene Wellen schlagen. Sie lässt sich von Dr. B. R. Ambedkars unerschütterlichem Engagement für die Revolution gegen die Kasten inspirieren und verwebt Texte\, die mit ihrem Anliegen übereinstimmen. Mahi hat den Einfluss der Hip-Hop-Musik auf die Jugend von heute erkannt und möchte kritische Themen in einer Sprache ansprechen\, die bei den Jugendlichen ankommt. Sie schärft das Bewusstsein und setzt sich für diejenigen ein\, die mit Diskriminierung konfrontiert sind\, und festigt damit ihre Rolle als gewaltige Kraft des Wandels innerhalb der Hip-Hop-Community und darüber hinaus. Mahi Ghanes Kunst ist mehr als nur Musik; sie ist ein Aufruf zu Gerechtigkeit und Gleichberechtigung und verleiht den Stimmen der Ausgegrenzten Gehör. Sie ist auch eine Aktivistin für die Rechte indigener Völker. Ihr aktueller Track "Jungle Cha Raja" setzt sich für indigene Landrechte ein und passt meiner Meinung nach perfekt in den konzeptionellen Rahmen der Ausstellung. \nSea Behind the Wall \n"Sea behind the Wall" ist ein partizipatorisches Outdoor-Kapitel im Rahmen der übergreifenden Initiative Listening to the Land von Oyoun. Sie absolvierte ihr Studium der Islamwissenschaften mit dem Schwerpunkt Zentral- und Südasien sowie Soziologie an der Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg. Darüber hinaus erwarb sie einen Master in Global Studies an der Universität Basel. Participants will explore mixed media; graff writing\, illustrations\, timelines\, found sounds\, interviews\, audio recordings\, songs\, and music production to collaborate on a community mixtape. Under her supervision and care\, Maurice dug through the crates of his grandma's record collection\, was reprimanded for tagging (writing) names in Crayola on walls\, watched other family members perform acrobatic dance moves at cook-outs\, listened to Muhammad Ali kick rhymes predicting his knockouts\, and resampled his aunts and uncles' fashion aesthetics. As a result\, Maurice was consistently provided with an openness to be creative and courageous in discovering self-identity and expression.
