DESCRIPTION:Ghetto Wrestling ist eine Queer-Comedy-Show bei der eine “Camp” Wrestling Performance im Zentrum steht \nBei diesem Spektakel ist die Kreativität der Kostüme und der Characters wichtiger als die tatsächlichen Wrestling-Skills. Als gänzlich unprofessionelle Comedy-Show sucht Ghetto Wrestling nach Kandidat*innen\, die für diesen Anlass als Wrestler*innen auftreten möchten. Um euch zu bewerben\, braucht ihr einen Wrestling-Namen und eine Wrestling-Persona (Gimmick). Mit Persona sind alle Details zu eurem angedachten Character gemeint: Kostüme\, Geheimwaffen\, spezielle Moves\, Hintergrundgeschichte und alles\, was das Publikum begeistern oder faszinieren könnte. Mit diesen Details werden dann die interessantesten Kämpfe für die Show zusammengestellt. Die Teilnehmenden müssen keine Wrestling-Erfahrung haben! Die erste Ausgabe von Ghetto Wrestling fand im Künstlerhaus Bethanien statt und brachte wild kostümierte Kreaturen an einem urkomischen Abend zusammen\, der von der ZDF-Sendung Kultur begleitet wurde. Auch die nächste Ausgabe im folgenden Jahr auf dem Rock the Block Festival in Kreuzberg war ein voller Erfolg. DESCRIPTION:Herr Metitsch hat sich seine eigene Welt erschaffen. Er sammelt Dinge\, Gegenstände und integriert sie in ein ausgeklügeltes Ordnungssystem\, das er penibel beschützt. Ohne seine Ordnung der Dinge könnte Herr Metitsch nicht existieren. Denn das NICHTS ist viel bedrohlicher\, als das Etwas. Herr Metitsch hat eine Vergangenheit. Erlebnisse und Erfahrungen\, die an ihm hängen wie hartnäckige Spinnweben. Und anhand der Dinge\, die ihn umgeben\, packt er Stück für Stück seine Gedanken aus. \nDas Theaterstück von Karin Strauß hat der Neuköllner Kulturverein Visionäre (Vision for deaf and hearing people) in die deutsche Gebärdensprache umgewandelt und Metaphern und Wortwitze in visuelle Bilder übersetzt. SUMMARY:48h Neukölln | Ausstellungseröffnung: Alternatives Denkmal für Neukölln
DESCRIPTION:*Die Einweihung findet am Freitag\, den 23. Juni um 19 Uhr auf dem Hermannplatz statt* \nWie könnte ein Denkmal aussehen\, das Migrationserfahrungen würdigt? \nMikala Hyldig Dal begibt sich in dieser Ausstellung auf eine Spurensuche durch Migrationserinnerungen und zugleich auf eine neue Form des städtischen Denkmals zu\, das digitale und urbane Räume miteinander verschmilzt. Der Prozess der Entwicklung des Denkmals ist gemeinschaftsbasiert und in ein BürgerInnen-Treffen in Oyoun Kulturzentrum Neukölln verankert\, wo Geschichten und visuelle Ideen ausgetauscht werden und gemeinsam die Form des Denkmals entwickelt wird. Alternatives Denkmal für Neukölln verbindet die Migrationsgeschichten\, Zeugnisse und visuellen Erinnerungen von in Berlin lebenden Migrant*innen und Geflüchteten in einer Reihe von audio-visuellen künstlerischen Darstellungen. Poetische\, subjektive und subversive Erfahrungen verbinden Räume aus der ganzen Welt mit dem Gewebe unseres gemeinsamen Stadtraums. \nZiel ist einen positiven Rahmen für den Migrationsdiskurs zu setzen und aktuellen fremdenfeindlichen Bewegungen entgegenzuwirken. Gemeinsam schlagen die teilnehmenden Künstler*innen eine Alternative zu Rechtspopulismen wie der "Alternative für Deutschland" vor. Berlin Biennale\, dem Martin Gropius Bau und dem HKW Berlin\, der Townhouse Gallery Kairo\, dem Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles\, der Nikolaj Kunsthal Kopenhagen\, der Flux Factory New York und der Azad Gallery Teheran gezeigt und u. a. in der TAZ\, dem Guardian und dem Monopol Magazine besprochen. Sie ist die Herausgeberin des Forschungsprojekts "Images of Transition" über Kunst und Aktivismus in den arabischen Aufständen und Gründungsmitglied des queer-feministischen Künstlerkollektivs Maternal Fantasies. Zusammen mit dem Programmierer Farhan Khalid hat sie die Augmented-Reality-App Monuments AR entwickelt\, die sich auf ortsspezifische Interventionen im digitalen Raum konzentriert. It serves as a powerful reminder of the enduring spirit of resilience\, strength\, and triumph in the face of adversity. \nWhile this holiday originated in the context of the United States\, its essence transcends borders\, making it an ideal occasion for Black individuals across the globe to unite in celebration of our shared excellence and to collectively confront the ongoing impact of colonialism and enslavement. \nThis circle will go beyond the festivities and historical reflection to provide a unique opportunity for us to engage in a transformative journey of self-discovery and community building. \nBy employing relational practices\, somatics\, and group work\, we can create a space that fosters a deeper connection with ourselves and our fellow community members. DESCRIPTION:In a world of globalization and migration\, where do I belong to? \nThey say that knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom\, and through this workshop Maryse and Johanna\, will guide you through the journey of discovering our own identities. Using a de-colonial perspective the workshop will question how the world around us defines people’s paths towards their own identity. Using individual visions and combining them\, Maryse\, Johanna and the participants will build the tree of identities\, the Arbol of Ubumwe\, where all of your stories come together to represent diversity\, inclusiveness and togetherness. \nMaryse is a burundian student in clinical psychology\, she also works in the field of community development as a project facilitator where she gets to be in touch with people from discriminated groups and minorities and helps them to create and run small businesses\, become financially independent and take care of their families. Johanna took a long turn through studying literature to working in supermarkets\, hostels\, bakeries\, cafés\, until she could become a full-time storyteller. Now she tells fairy tales\, myths and legends from all over to adults and children. SUMMARY:We Want the Sky – Remembering Sarah Hegazi Three Years Later
DESCRIPTION:!Content warning: suicide\, violence! \nThis June marks three years since Sarah Hegazi – activist\, lesbian\, advocate for women’s and queer rights\, communist\, software developer\, sister\, and daughter – decided to take her own life. In 2017\, Sarah Hegazi was imprisoned after raising a rainbow flag at a Mashrou’ Leila concert in her hometown of Cairo. She was incarcerated and tortured for three months. After her release\, she fled to Canada\, where she died of suicide two years later. \nSarah Hegazi’s death was felt around the world. On the anniversary of her death\, “We Want the Sky“ – a title harking back to her last public words – opens a space for coming together\, for grieving\, for wailing\, for raging\, and of course – for looking forward. This day will be dedicated to the mourning of Sarah’s death as well as the celebration of her life. On top of that\, this event wants to commemorate the lives and deaths of the countless others lost to state oppression\, murderous border regimes\, right-wing hate crimes\, apartheid systems\, and queerphobic violence.  \nThe event will start at 14:00h\, will continue throughout the day and transition into the evening. Between 14:00h and 18:00h \, workshops will hold space for politics\, art\, and movement\, followed by a show filled with performances\, drag\, and music starting at 19:00h.  \nWorkshops include:  \n14-15:30: Afrofuturism – How to Write Hope by Jamie McGhee \n16-18: So What if I’m the Villain? DESCRIPTION:Gescheiterte Antikriegsbewegung\, instrumentalisierte Hilfe und die irakische Protestbewegung \nKurz vor dem Beginn des Irakkriegs 2003 mobilisierte die weltweite Antikriegsbewegung 15 Millionen Menschen. Allein in Berlin gingen im Februar über 500.000 Menschen auf die Straße und demonstrierten gegen eine US geführte Militärintervention. Am 20. März 2003 begann die Militärintervention unter nachweislich falschen Behauptungen. Sie führte zum Sturz Saddam Husseins\, kostete Hunderttausende das Leben und veränderte unter US-Dominanz das wirtschaftliche und politische System des Landes.  \nHumanitäre Hilfe konnte damals nur in Absprache mit den kriegführenden Armeen durchgeführt werden und wurde damit zu einem politischen Instrument im Krieg. Die Baath-Partei wurde verboten\, der öffentliche Dienst brutal gesäubert und die irakischen Streitkräfte und Sicherheitsdienste aufgelöst - so sollte die neoliberale Transformation des Irak vollzogen werden.  \nFür die linke Bewegungen im globalen Norden wurden die Positionierungen zum Krieg identitätsstiftend\, jedoch abgekoppelt von der irakischen Linken. Diese protestierte gegen den neokolonialen Krieg\, gegen Saddam Husseins Regime und sah sich mit aufkommenden radikal- islamistischen Gruppierungen konfrontiert. \nSeit 2011 finden auch im Irak immer wieder große Proteste statt. 2019 gab es monatelang anhaltenden Platzbesetzungen in allen größeren Städten des Zentralirak\, die gegen die Ungerechtigkeiten der politischen und neoliberalen Ordnung demonstrierten. Eine neue Generation von progressiven Kräften im Irak kämpft für eine Umkehrung der imperialen Post-2003 Ordnung. Dennoch blieb die Solidarität der europäischen Linken weitestgehend aus. Er ist Autor von “New Cold War: The United States\, Russia and China - From Kosovo to Ukraine” (2023) und “The People Want: A Radical Exploration of the Arab Uprising” (2013). \nJamal Al-Sayigh \nJamal Al-Sayigh versteht sich als sozialistischer Aktivist der Harakat Al-Amal (Arbeiterbewegung)\, die sich während der Oktoberproteste 2019 im Irak gegründet hat. Als Bewegung versuchen sie einen Raum zu schaffen\, für die seit den Protesten verfolgten Aktivist:innen\, sich zu treffen und auszutauschen. Zudem organisieren sie junge Menschen in ihren Nachbarschaften. Ein Schwerpunkt ihrer Arbeit liegt in der politischen\, marxistischen Bildung. Er ist im Bagdader Bezirk Sadr City\, der als Hochburg von Muqtada Sadr gilt\, aufgewachsen und dort politisch aktiv. Die Folgen des Irakkriegs beeinflussen die jüngere politische Generation im Irak bis heute. \nKatja Maurer \nKatja Maurer war Leiterin der Öffentlichkeitsabteilung und Chefredakteurin des Rundschreibens bei der Frankfurter Hilfs- und Menschenrechtsorganisation “medico international”. 2003 gehörte sie zu den Organisatorinnen der Konferenz “Macht und Ohnmacht der Hilfe” die auf den Beginn des Irakkrieges fiel und die Grundlagen für eine kritische Beschäftigung mit Hilfe und ihrer Einbettung in Kriegs- und Postkriegskontexte legte.  Sie ist Co-Autorin des Buches „Haitianische Renaissance – der lange Weg zur postkolonialen Befreiung“ und hat sich in vielen Texten mit der ambivalenten Wirkung von Hilfe auseinandergesetzt. \nSchluwa Sama \nSchluwa Sama ist zwischen Kurdistan-Irak und Deutschland aufgewachsen. Die promovierte Polit-Ökonomin publiziert in diversen Medien und arbeitet bei der Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung in Beirut. Dort beschäftigt sie sich mit der politischen Ökonomie von Nahrung und Hilfe im Irak. Welche Auswirkungen hatte 2003 auf Bäuer*innen und die landwirtschaftliche Produktion im Land? SUMMARY:SOUP3 | Keramiklub + Telephassa Ausstellung
DESCRIPTION:Im Anschluss an die Vernissage am 26. Mai stellen Keramiklub und Telephassa ihre im Rahmen von Soup3 und darüber hinaus entstandenen Projekte und Arbeiten eine Woche lang im Oyoun aus. \nKeramiklub stellt in diesem Rahmen Werke vor\, die in den Keramikworkshops der letzten zwei Jahre entstanden sind. Persönliche Werke von Ina und Nhu werden ebenfalls zu sehen sein. Die interaktive Ausstellung lädt zum Mitmachen ein - kommt vorbei\, spielt mit Ton und lasst eure Objekte Teil der Ausstellung werden. \nIn Tazir und Bákkhos Projekt "Telephassa" werden verborgene Geschichten durch Storytelling und künstlerischen Ausdruck weitergegeben. Im Rahmen einer Ausstellung präsentieren die beiden eine Auswahl an Postern\, Videoinstallationen sowie zwei Ausgaben ihres Podcasts "Frankly". \nVernissage und Präsentation am 26.05.2023 von 17.00 - 21.00 Uhr\nAusstellung vom 27.05.2023 - 02.06.2023 (wochentags: 12 - 16 Uhr; Freitag + Wochenende: 12 - 18 Uhr)\n \nEintritt frei! Bei Keramiklub Workshops geht es nicht darum\, die perfekte Schale zu töpfern\, sondern ein Gefühl für das Material Ton zu bekommen\, mit ihm zu experimentieren\, der Fantasie und dem Spiel freien Lauf zu lassen. \nTazir und Bákkhos haben sich zusammengetan\, um das Telephassa UNIVERSE zu schaffen. A new understanding of creativity is created through the use of creative coping mechanisms.\nParticipants are invited into an interdisciplinary\, transnational ecosystem of exchange that empowers their voices and their power by providing them with seed money\, training and connections to develop and test creative\, artistic and socio-cultural solutions. Ein Keramikerinnen Duo\, das gerne Wissen weitergibt und alle einlädt\, die Interesse haben mit Ton zu arbeiten. Varnam is often the “main” piece in a solo Bharatanatyam performance. DESCRIPTION:To those Exiled from Earth\, so they chose the sky إلى من كانت منفاھم الأرض، فاختاروا السماء  \n(’أجسَادٌ مِن عَلَق) Our Queer future is a past tense’ is an installation performance in a form of a promenade\, based on a post migration perspective on Queerness in relation to Arab* Identity(s). As a term\, Queerness does not exist in Arabic. However\, it does and did exist as a practice\, one that goes back further than the global queerness; that Western hegemony imposed on the globe. The language of queerness becomes hegemonic through erasing identities that existed before it and subsuming/substituting vast and complex communities\, histories\, and languages across the globe with a monolithic\, generalizing Western model of understanding and approaching sexual and gender diversity. Ahmad Baba will take the audience through a journey between different temporal and spatial dimensions of "queer" existence. : an invisible past\, incorporating linguistic\, social\, cultural\, and religious elements on erotic\, sexual and "non-normative" discourses from classical Arab* manuscripts. Into a distorted present that challenge the hegemony of Western narratives about Arabo-Islamic sexual and gender identities\, Towards imagining a utopic future that holds more questions than offer answers. “Ilk علق” is an attempt to engage with these questions! Employing a critical approach to art practices\, he meticulously constructs performances that are multilayered\, utilizing the body as an archive to connect the past and reimagine the question of future\, reshaping virtual realities through the incorporation of multimedia\, dance\, and interactive elements. Baba’s work is firmly grounded in his interest in non-western manuscripts\, which serves as a foundation for inquiries into power structures\, taxonomies of identities\, and relational methodologies. His performances are exquisitely personalized\, reflecting his unique experiences and worldview\, and seek to disrupt conventional pedagogies around performance and body work that perpetuate hegemonic ideologies. Beyond his prodigious work as a performance artist\, Baba holds an MA in Dance Movement Therapy\, where his focus lies in the use of accessible body psychotherapy as critical tools for both individual and collective transformation on mental and emotional levels. SUMMARY:Kurdistan Soli Küfa x Şeyda Kurt Soli Lesung
DESCRIPTION:Aufgrund der nach wie vor tragischen Situation organisiert Soli Küfa am 5. Mai eine Solidaritätsveranstaltung für die Erdbebenopfer in Kurdistan\, der Türkei und Syrien. Şeyda Kurt wird aus ihrem aktuellen Buch “HASS” lesen\, Elu wird eine Ausstellung präsentieren und Adnan Çelik wird für uns kurdische und türkische Songs spielen. \nSoli Küfa ist als Solidaritäts-Küche gestartet\, die gegen Spenden Essen kocht und verkauft. Dies möchte sie auch weiterhin tun und Gäste mit kurdischen Speisen und Getränken versorgen. Auch wenn es bereits verschiedene Organisationen gibt\, die Spenden sammeln\, erhalten gerade Minderheiten wie z.B. Alevit*innen\, Ezid*innen oder Kurd*innen weiterhin nicht genügend Unterstützung von der Regierung. Mit eurer Hilfe und ihren Kontakten will die Soli Küfa Familien direkt unterstützen. Bereits im März konnten sie so Familien in den vom Erdbeben betroffenen Regionen helfen. Soli Küfa hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt\, genügend Spenden zu sammeln\, um den betroffenen Familien erneut zu helfen und freut sich darauf\, euch am 5. His artistic  work combines the power of dance and performance with a deep commitment to social justice. Through his performances\, he challenges audiences to confront issues of racism\, inequality\, and oppression\, but  also about the power of dance and the process of healing\, birth\, death\, and love with inanimate objects. SUMMARY:Dance\, live music + conversation | Solidarity Fundraiser for Flood Affectees in Pakistan
DESCRIPTION:This year's Earth Day\, join the group Critical Pakistan for a solidarity fundraiser for flood affectees in Pakistan. While Pakistan is responsible for a statistically small share of global carbon emissions\, Global Climate Risk Index 2021 ranked Pakistan the 8th most vulnerable country to climate change. Climate change has caused frequent floods\, unpredictable rainfall\, soil damage and food insecurity. Last year\, Pakistan faced unprecedented floods leaving behind a massive trail of death and destruction. The floods caused damages of 40 billion dollars  to the infrastructure. It killed more than 1700 people\, almost one-third of whom were children. More than 793\,900 livestock died and around two million acres of crops and orchards were impacted. Unfortunately\, floods are no longer part of the news cycle and media attention has dwindled. Nevertheless\, the crisis remains: millions are still struggling to meet existential needs. \nThe first part of the evening will be a conversation on climate justice and action with activists from both Pakistan and Germany discussing questions on responsibility\, resistance and their work. In the second half\, dancer and performer Amna Mawaz Khan\, multidisciplinary artist Kazim Hussain and filmmaker/musician Dara Shikoh will present “Ralli/رلی“\, an exploration of dance\, music and theatre they will develop for this event. \nWHERE THE FUNDS GO TO \nPakistan has one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the world. The situation has been exacerbated due to the floods. An immersion and exploration of dance\, music and theatre. \nPARTICIPANTS \nSpeakers \nMinerwa Tahir is an activist from Pakistan who lives in Berlin. She is a member of Gruppe Arbeiterinnenmacht and the Workers and Youth Relief Campaign. The campaign is a coalition of trade unions and leftist organisations in Pakistan that advocates for climate justice in the region. One of their key demands is debt cancellation for the semi-colonial world. \nTatu Hey is German-Kenyan. She has been a part of the Black Earth Kollektiv since 2020. By drawing links between climate injustice\, racism and colonialism\, the collective advocates for an intersectional climate justice movement. \nPriyanka Hafeez Dero is a member of the Women Democratic Front (WDF)\, a socialist-feminist movement in Pakistan. She is the General Secretary of WDF in Karachi. During recent floods\, WDF worked across the country along with its comrades and sympathizers to raise funds and provide basic facilities and medical help to the flood affectees. WDF also visited relief camps regularly and stayed in touch with the affectees. \nSulti is a Kurdish non-binary activist (pronouns they/them or their name) in the areas of migration and climate justice. They migrated to Germany seven years ago and have since been part of the Climate Movement in Hambacher Forest\, Lützi and other forest occupations. Sulti is also involved in the Abolish Frontex Campaign\, a campaign against the EU border regime. They raise awareness about racism\, transphobia\, police brutality and connect BIPoC migrant groups in the struggle for freedom\, liberation and a borderless world. \nModerator: \nFazila Bhimji\, Ph.D. She is an independent scholar and activist residing in Berlin. Her research interest and activism has focused on migration in the global North. Currently\, using an intersectional and decolonial approach\, she is exploring the links between economic flows and the displacement of people because of climate injustice and crisis in Pakistan.  \nPerformers: \nAmna Mawaz Khan is a practitioner of dance and politics. She is currently between Heidelberg and Rawalpindi\, pursuing a degree in Transcultural Studies. She is a member of the Awami Workers Party\, Women Democratic Front and Laal Hartaal. Her training in dance began at a young age under Bharathanatyam exponent Indu Mitha\, and her lifelong relationship to movement translated into different projects ranging from theatre\, film and music. Amna has taught\, learnt and performed in Pakistan\, India\, China\,  Switzerland\, Deutschland\, England and the USA. \nKazim Hussain is a multidisciplinary artist\, based in Berlin. His research revolves around decolonisation\, societal structures and Pakistan's blasphemy laws. With a background in theatre and academia\, he works to create awareness about Pakistani culture and debunk myths associated with it. \nDara Shikoh Channa is a Berlin-based Pakistani filmmaker and musician. Music is for him the sacred space between language and emotion\, a place where emotions have not completely turned to logic\, yet they are felt. His research investigates tools to build an antiracist and powerful representation of trans bipoc people’s sociality\, identity\, and their historical journey. \nAstan Meyer is a singer\, actress\, curator and model born in France and traveling regularly to Mali since the age of 3. She combines different musical genres\, from jazz to rock to afro-techno to hip-hop and is also the lead singer of the band Asphalt Djelis\, which mixes ancient and futuristic sounds. She expresses herself also through all the dance influences she has encountered. She has appeared as an actress in music videos and commercials\, mainly in Germany and France. She has been involved in many creative collaborations such as with Puma\, Sevdaliza\, the Hoodoo Musical in Berlin. She is also a co-founder of Culture Supply and a member of Out Out Time Embassy\, a multicultural group of curators who generate conversation and curiosity about art and culture in Berlin. \nAmowia is a German-Ghanaian multidisciplinary artist who started dancing at age five. They learned hip-hop and contemporary dance\, teaching their own dance class by age fifteen. After moving to Berlin in 2014\, Amowia worked as a choreographer\, movement coach\, model\, and dancer\, appearing on TV shows and working with national and international artists. They honed their dance skills in London before joining the ballroom scene in 2018\, which allowed them to embrace their roots\, identity\, and queerness. As a DJ\, Amowia plays house music heavily influenced by afro beats\, hip hop\, RnB\, and ballroom beats. Their passion for house music has led them to give people a certain groove on the dance floor and take them on a journey. \nREGIE \nMirah Laline is a brazilian director\, actress\, dramaturg and theater pedagoge. She studied Directing in the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul\, and was in the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in 2015 as a DAAD scholarship holder. Productions such as „Der Hässliche“ of Marius von Mayenburg\, Sasha Marianna Salzmanns „Muttersprache Mameloschn“ and „Pátria Estrangeira / Fremde Heimat“ (Koproduktion Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe and Goethe-Institut Porto Alegre) won several awards in Brazil. In 2021 she developed the transcultural project „Juntos/ Bî Hevra“\, which took place at the "Galerie im Körnerpark"\, followed by „Das Humboldt Experiment”\, in Humboldt Forum\, with its first exhibition in March of 2022. Her work offers the opportunity of learning and exchanging about topics such as decolonialism and diversity in the cultural scene\, for institutions as well as for artists. \nCHOREOGRAPHIE \nBlack Pearl de Almeida Lima is a multidisciplinary Afro- Latinx trans brazilian artist living in Berlin\, Germany. She graduated from the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim\, has performed professionally in various theater institutions and renowned professional dance companies in Germany. Is currently a member of the Iconic House Saint Laurent Europe.
