SUMMARY:Queens Against Borders: Ukrainian Queers relief
DESCRIPTION:Ukrainian Queers relief will be a solidarity event from & for the trans and queer\nartists of Berlin with Acts and performances by the residents of QAB plus\, guests performers from (Iran\, Egypt\, Brazil and more) showcasing their Art and expressing their emotional and personal experiences with the audience. Acts of Spoken word\, stand up comedy\, singing\, and dance will create the most beautiful night that allows us all to share the moment together and fundraise for a good cause\, helping the Trans Queer community (in Ukraine because of the current circumstances and the refugees seeking support with an emphasis on QTIBIPoCs fleeing the country with no governmental support) as well as funding a program for the community allowing them to participate and learn self defense via classes and workshops. We would like to initiate this action due to the rising of hate crimes and violence against trans and queer people and People of Colour in our city. We are tired of being scared for our lives and hiding who we are... \nQueens Against Borders can’t stay silent. \nSo for us to allow awareness and support the community by defending themselves. We will need all of our allies and members of the community to participate and support. \n  \nArtists participating:\nChiqui Love\, wizzy xcx\, Dornika\, Keil Li Divon\, Katrina von Morgenland\, Aurah Jendafaaq \nAfter party Dj Set by Hanaby\nLive drawing session by the amazing Artist Rory Midhani. \nPrice:\nRegular ticket: 15 €\nSolidarity tickets: 20\, 25\, 30 € \nPeople with low income (refugees\, QTIBIPoCs) to send an email to Queensagainstborders@gmail.com for admission. \nAfter paying all the artists and staff members\, tickets sales will go directly to funding the self defense classes and supporting QTIBIPOCs in need. \n  \n◥ At Oyoun\, there is no place for sexism\, queerphobia\, transphobia\, any form of racism or discrimination such as anti-Black\, anti-Muslim or anti-Jewish racism\, and any sort of violent or aggressive behaviour. Oyoun offers a safer space for all\, an open forum for dialogue and a place where we support and stand up for each other. If someone/something bothers you during an event\, please approach a member of our staff who are there to help! SUMMARY:AS* PAPANGUS Street Performance in São Paulo
DESCRIPTION:AS* PAPANGUS Street Performance in São Paulo \n- 2pm São Paulo / 7pm CET\n- street performance at Bananal arte e cultura contemporânea\n- live-streamed via Oyoun’s Instagram account \nAS* PAPANGUS is a carnival for\, by and with women* that does not objectify any marginalized body. In AS* PAPANGUS\, the Afro-Brazilian artist Bruna Amaro performs a carnival in its most queer-feminist and decolonial form\, with more than 50 women* in São Paulo and Berlin. \nIn this participatory project\, a series of performance workshops laid ground for the following acts. During the two-day workshop in São Paulo\, the artist and the participants collectively built up movements and statements for their street performance. Phrases manifesting experiences of survival\, transformation and labor\, were embroidered on the costumes handmade by Bruna Amaro and the seamstress Eliana Amaro dos Santos. \nIn the street performance on April 10\, 40 women* walk down the streets of São Paulo with the Papangu clothes on\, with the statements on their chest\, braced with handcrafted props\, and dancing to the festive music. As they let their bodies speak\, the bodies become flags of triumph. \nAS* PAPANGUS opens the first chapter of Oyoun’s curatorial focus Mightier than a Trampled Flower\, which centralizes life of women* in wars from a decolonial context and deconstructs the canonical narratives of women* in war. \n\nPerformers \nThais Aline Ferreira Lúcio da Silva\, Flávia Fernandes Belletati\, Carmen Cardoso Garcia\, Ana Paula da Paz Alves\, Juliana Bueno\, Iasmin Souza Ribeiro\, Larissa Maranho\, Clarissa Teixeira Ximenes\, Anelise Torres Blanco\, Camila de Sousa Trindade\, Gabriela Bergamasco\, Ana Luiza Chieffi\, Iara Santa Clara Coutinho\, Graciela Pereira Cruz Soares\, Mariana Queiroz da Silva\, Melissa Menezes\, Gabriela Zuculin\, Andressa Arena da Silva\, Núria Cordeiro Vieira\, Tatiana Burg Mlynarz\, Tereza Ferreira Zolli\, Verônica Borges Carneiro da Conceição\, Gabriela Raphael Duarte\, Roseli de Lima Santos\, Maíra de Souza Oliveira\, Tatiana Cristina de Argenton e Queiroz\, Alessandra Cristiane de Mello\, Natália Onori Ferraz\, Paula Montes\, Ana Lucia da Silva Santos\, Jucilene Braga Rodrigues\, Julia Lima\, Nyx Helena Tunes Zampieri\, Lourdes Arasy Benítez Espinola \nTechnical Team \nEliana Amaro dos Santos (Seamstress)\nPaula Correa Pedroso (Producer)\nYve Zolli Nolasco (Producer)\nFernanda Andrade (Videographer)\nSuellen Santana Amaral (Videographer)\nCássia Roberta Araújo de Oliveira (Photographer)\nMaria Clara Silva Loureiro (Photographer) \nFor more information about the project\, visit oyoun.de/as-papangus. \nFor the other events of AS* PAPANGUS\, click here. \nAS* PAPANGUS is supported by the Goethe-Institut São Paulo.

SUMMARY:What's your radio show?- An evening with independent radio makers in Berlin
DESCRIPTION:Berlin has a vibrant scene of independent and artist-run radio stations\, that provide frameworks and platforms for musicians\, DJs and other artists to produce mixes\, radio shows\, and sound art. To play music they care about\, to share new releases by other musicians\, to also to use the airspaces as experimental grounds for creative new ideas. And to also talk about politics\, culture and things that matter to them. \nFor the past 2 pandemic years\, live gigs have been quite erratic and impossible in many cases – meanwhile the radio stations have provided a stable and constant outlet for creative sound works. While most of the radio work is volunteer-run and could not compensate for income\, still the radio stations have provided and continuously are providing public platforms\, rooms to experiment\, and spaces to share music and sound. Of course\, artist-run radio stations have provided that space for decades\, and new stations are starting afresh.\nWe want to take a moment to celebrate all the manifold sounds that have been aired or streamed\, and all the creative and organizing energies that come together to make the many sound streams continuously happen\, that inspire people around town and internationally. \nAnd – we would like to discuss with people who are part of running the different stations on the panel\, and hopefully also lots of radio makers in the audience\, about their experiences\, learnings and plans for the future of radio making. We are curious to find out about the histories\, cultures and ethos of the different stations – and so also give those of you who are considering to start making radio shows some ideas of where to turn to. We want to understand a bit more about outreach and developing audiences\, both as the station and for the radio DJs. About community building and the creative ecosystems around the stations\, with a particular view to the context in Berlin. About sustaining the stations and the shows. About the relevance and role of radio for artists and audiences. About artists' experiences with making radio shows. And about ideas and plans for the future. \nWe hope for many past\, current\, and future radio makers to join us for this conversation at Oyoun. For musicians who are already doing radio\, and for those considering it. And for those who want to learn more about the creative ecosystems around independent radio stations. For an exchange of experience about making radios as musicians\, and about hosting those spaces. \n>> Registration here. \nWe will be discussing with: \nGiacomo Gianetta is a co-founder and CEO of the experimental community radio station Cashmere Radio in Berlin. He composed and performed\, amongst others\, for Deutsche Oper\, Deutschlandradio Kultur\, Hamburger Bahnhof\, transmediale\, Venice Biennale\, TNT Nine Theatre Beijing. His research focuses on parallel artistic processes and experimentation through a high variety of practices and media. -\nCashmere Radio is a not-for-profit community experimental radio station which was originally based in Lichtenberg\, Berlin for the first six years of its existence before recently moving to Wedding. The ambition of the station is to preserve and further radio and broadcasting practices by playing with the plasticity and malleability of the medium. It is both a physical station open to the public and an online radio The radio can be heard 24 hours a day\, seven days a week on our website\, and on Friday and Saturdays via 88\,4 Berlin and 90\,7 Potsdam via the 24/3 Radio Netzwerk\, a collaboration between six of Berlin’s independent radio stations. \nGaby D’Annunzio - is a social activist\, community organiser and mental health advocate. She works as community manager and workshop coordinator at Refuge Worldwide radio. With a Master of Arts inPsychology\, she has always had a keen interest in social issues and people's well-being. She is also the co-founder of the Open Music Lab\, and hosts the Agora podcast series for Give Something Back To Berlin.\nRefuge Worldwide - was started as a fundraising platform working in solidarity with grassroots and non-profit organisations. In January 2021 we launched Refuge Worldwide\, a new radio station to amplify the music and issues that we care about\, broadcasting weekly from Weserstraße 166 in Berlin Neukölln. Refuge Worldwide commits to striving for a gender-balanced station\, representative of minorities. The\nstation is focused on community-building and creating space/visibility for underrepresented artists. We are really excited to present a broad range of shows ranging from 100% music-focused programmes\,\nto some that incorporate interviews and debate\, to programmes completely dedicated to discussion. \nSENU is a multidisciplinary creative - DJ\, radio host\, designer and workshop facilitator. She is one of the founding members of SLIC Unit\, a DJ collective that was formed in 2020 in order to practice collective joy and radical solidarity within the music industry. She hosts a monthly radio show at Berlins community radio THF\, called DRAFT Radio. With the show\, she is trying to create opportunities for FLNTA* DJs and selectors\, in order to share the community space and make the radio experience more accessible to fellow music enthusiasts. \nLouis Kohlmann is co-running THF Radio\, a community radio located at the former gatekeepers house of Tempelhof Airport. From 2012-2017 he was part of Projektraum LOTTE\, a collectively run art space in Stuttgart. Besides radio\, he is doing his PhD in philosophy at Humboldt-University in Berlin\, where he’s working on the social and political dimensions of language.\nTHF Radio is a community radio for Tempelhof and beyond for the whole of Berlin. We offer musicians*\, artists*\, bands and DJ*s a chance to try out different formats. In addition\, we are a platform for urban political discourse through various interview and talk formats. The radio is a department of the recently founded Torhaus Berlin e.V.\, and is correspondingly located in the Torhaus\, the gatekeeper house inside the former airport. Launched as a pilot project in the summer of 2019\, THF Radio has been in permanent  operation since the beginning of 2020\, with over 50 different regular shows per month and over 80 radio producers involved. \nAmong the further participants are reboot.fm. \nModeration: Andrea Goetzke - is part of Music Pool Berlin\, and also a long term radio maker and host of different shows\, starting out at reboot.fm and now at ByteFM. \nThe networking part after the discussion will take place in the abadän café/bar  \nAn evening by Music Pool Berlin\, which is supported by funds from the European Union (EFRE/ESF) and Musicboard Berlin. \n◥ At Oyoun\, there is no place for sexism\, queerphobia\, transphobia\, any form of racism or discrimination such as anti-Black\, anti-Muslim or anti-Jewish racism\, and any sort of violent or aggressive behavior. Oyoun offers a safer space for all\, an open forum for dialogue and a place where we support and stand up for each other. SUMMARY:We Should All Be Dreaming (Only for BIPoCs)

At first\, he used to write poetry but couldn’t quite grasp the flow. Although he was in love with this art\, it was challenging\, as he is a stutterer. Until one day he played a beat he found on YouTube\, and attempted to rap on it. That’s when he discovered that he can perform since then he hasn’t stopped. \nTo Zeyo music is a comfort zone. As he had had a tough childhood because of his stuttering condition\, he grew to get over it\, by making this art. By which he learned some extra skills such as making beats\, video editing and photography. He strives toward transforming any negativity he is subjected to into solitude that benefits his growth. His goal is to express what he\, and others\, go through due to freedom suppression practised by the extremist right-wing government in Sudan. He also strives towards establishing a platform in his country\, to help revolutionary artists\, who are not fortunate enough to practice their artistry\, due to the hard living conditions that they go through because of the government. \n  \nJulian Damm: \nJulian Damm a video and photographer from Berlin \n  \n  \n◥ At Oyoun\, there is no place for sexism\, queerphobia\, transphobia\, any form of racism or discrimination such as anti-Black\, anti-Muslim or anti-Jewish racism\, and any sort of violent or aggressive behavior. SUMMARY:Benim Adim – Mein Name
\n◥ At Oyoun\, there is no place for sexism\, queerphobia\, transphobia\, any form of racism or discrimination such as anti-Black\, anti-Muslim or anti-Jewish racism\, and any sort of violent or aggressive behavior. SUMMARY:AS* PAPANGUS Street Performance in Berlin
\nPerformers: Pamela Bassi\, Natalia Aly\, Mizgina Rengin\, Mayara Teston Barrios\, Katia Akemi\, Jarita Freydank\, Jahia\, Fatima Ismayilova \nAlle Veranstaltungen zur Reihe AS*PAPANGUS findest du hier. SUMMARY:El Far3i in Berlin\, supported by Jundi Majhul
DESCRIPTION:The celebrated songwriter and rapper El Far3i returns to Berlin for an exclusive show at Oyoun supported by a very special guest - Jundi Majhul. A combination of electro-acoustic sounds\, jazzy grooves and powerful raps from the pioneering artists will light up Berlin for this May date. \nGet your tickets here. \nBiographies \nEl Far3i \nEncapsulating a unique combination of Arabic acoustic folk and hip-hop\, El Far3i’s sound has become an iconic musical narrative expressed through numerous popular anthems and chantable earworms that echo far beyond the region of his hometown\, Amman. \nWith a distinct voice that contrasts soulful melodies against raw verses and chants\, his themes emerge from the region’s subconscious\, providing a unique archive of the socio-psychological\, political and personal subtexts that emerge \nfrom daily Arab life\, both back home and in the diaspora. Preserving the power of simple\, yet hard-hitting grooves\, he frames his thoughts through music\, poetry and melodies. Such versatility and vision have also translated into him co-founding El Morabba3 and 47Soul. El Far3i still does occasional live collaborations with El Morabba3\, and continues the powerful journey he started with 47Soul in 2013. \nJundi Majhul \nRapper\, hip-hop artist\, beat maker and music composer from Damascus\, Jundi is known for his jazzy hip-hop grooves mixed with Middle Eastern textures that are amplified by potent political and social content. Starting his musical journey in his early teens\, he released first solo album in 2017 before he launched his finger \ndrumming and live beat making project the following year. Alongside his solo work\, he has gained strong recognition for his collaborations\, producing beats rappers across the region\, and continuing his ‘Latlateh’ project with long time partner Bu Kolthoum. \n \n◥ At Oyoun\, there is no place for sexism\, queerphobia\, transphobia\, any form of racism or discrimination such as anti-Black\, anti-Muslim or anti-Jewish racism\, and any sort of violent or aggressive behavior. DESCRIPTION:Musik- und Tanzperformance von MusicDance Cape Town (Südafrika) \nTAH DAM! ist eine Musik- und Tanzperformance für Familien und Kinder. SUMMARY:FRATZ Festival: KOLOFU (2+)
SUMMARY:UN:IMAGINABLE - our histories in conversation
DESCRIPTION:UN:IMAGINABLE -  our histories in conversation\n_a musical documentary performance on the soundtracks of war_ \nUN:IMAGINABLE ist eine außergewöhnliche Theaterproduktion\, die aus der gelebten Realität von Trauma\, Krieg\, Ausgrenzung und Exil entstanden ist. SUMMARY:UN:IMAGINABLE - our histories in conversation
DESCRIPTION:UN:IMAGINABLE -  our histories in conversation\n_a musical documentary performance on the soundtracks of war_ \nUN:IMAGINABLE ist eine außergewöhnliche Theaterproduktion\, die aus der gelebten Realität von Trauma\, Krieg\, Ausgrenzung und Exil entstanden ist. SUMMARY:UN:IMAGINABLE – Filmscreening: Quo Vadis\, Aida?
DESCRIPTION:Screening\, followed by a Q&A with Melina Borčak \nAn unforgettable movie! - The New York Times \n\nABOUT "QUO VADIS\, AIDA?" - a film by Jasmila Žbanić \nBosnia\, 11 July 1995. Aida is a translator for the United Nations in the small town of Srebrenica. When the Serbian army takes over the town\, her family is among the thousands of citizens looking for shelter in the UN camp. As an insider to the negotiations\, Aida has access to crucial information that she needs to interpret. What is at the horizon for her family and people - rescue or death? Which move should she take? \nDoors: 19.00H\nStart: 19.30H (Club Space\, Souterrain)\nLanguage: OMU – Bosnian\, English and Dutch with German subtitles\nTickets: Donation-based \n–--- \nThis event is part of UN:IMAGINABLE - our histories in conversation \nUN:IMAGINABLE is one remarkable theatre production resulting from lived realities of trauma\, war\, segregation and exile. In the 1990s the conflicts in Rwanda and the Balkans shattered the world and remain recorded as two of the bloodiest events in modern history. However\, testimonies and stories continue to this day. Many have fled their home country and some have reached Germany\, a space glorified as paradise.  \nSociety is stuck in suppressed fear and hatred leading to further conflicts while in denial of histories untold. UN:IMAGINABLE mirrors the banality of evil and its connection to everyday\, mundane life and deals with the hour prior to death in the lives of victims and perpetrators.  \nWorld Premiere: 18 May\, at 18.00H (Reception) / 19.30 H (Performance) \nAdditional performances:  \n19 May\, 19.00H (Doors) / 19.30H (Performance)\n22 May\, 19.00H (Doors) / 19.30H (Performance) \nUN:IMAGINABLE is produced by Oyoun Berlin\, Mashirika Performing Arts and Media Company Rwanda and the Sarajevo War Theater Bosnia-Herzegovina. \nSupported in the fund TURN2 the Federal Cultural Foundation and the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media as well as by the Heinrich Böll Foundation. \n--- \nABOUT \nMelina Borčak (Q&A host) \nHaters say I’m a Muslim\, feminazi refugee islamizing the fake news-media at CNN\, ARD and Deutsche Welle… They’re right. \nDocumentaries\, street art\, museum exhibitions\, data journalism: I’ve already done lots of things in order to tell important stories. And I’ve got 10 years experience doing so. \nDuring the genocide against Bosniaks\, I grew up in Germany’s cosiest refugee camp (by “cozy” I mean it was a damn aluminum container)\, until I was forced to go “back” to a country I didn’t even know – Bosnia. In the ruins of Sarajevo\, I studied Journalism and filled my adrenalin addiction through adventurous trips to exotic destinations such as Bonn\, Potsdam and Berlin – at Deutsche Welle\, the Electronic Media School and the Parliament of Germany (know your enemy). Despite a successful career in Bosnian media\, I decided to return to Germany in 2015 – after almost 20 years in Bosnia. \nHere\, I continued working as a journalist\, became a columnist\, founded “Perspective Collective” – a collective of journalists that are refugees and/or POC. Now I’m building a media startup in Bosnia and working on two documentaries. \nJasmila Žbanić (director) \nBorn in Sarajevo in 1974\, Jasmila is a graduate of her native city’s Academy of Dramatic Arts\, Theatre and Film Directing Department. Before filmmaking\, she also worked as a puppeteer in the Vermont-based Bread and Puppet Theater and as a clown in a Lee Delong workshop. Her feature debut GRBAVICA won the 2006 Berlinale Golden Bear\, was sold to 40 territories and received nominations for European Film and Actress at the European Film Awards. \nON THE PATH\, Jasmila’s second feature film\, premiered at the 2010 Berlinale\, in the Competition section. The film had world-wide distribution in 25 territories\, won numerous awards\, and was nominated for European Actress at the European Film Awards. \nJasmila’s films and video works have been displayed at dozens of art exhibitions world-wide such as Manifesta 3\, the Istanbul Biennial\, Kunsthalle Fridericianum Kassel\, Swedish Contemporary Art Foundation\, New Museum in New York(...) She is the recipient of the 2014 KAIROS Prize which honours European artists whose work is judged to have a major cultural and social impact. \nCommunity theatre and storytelling can be lovely tools to connect\, feel seen\, entertain/get entertained and just have a lot of fun. During these workshops we aim at learning theatre and storytelling techniques together. We will tell each other’s stories in a safe space\, reenact them\, and play around moving our bodies and shaking off our worries in the process. The workshop will be conducted in Arabic and English. It is open for everyone (no need for any previous experience in with acting and theatre). However\, we especially encourage minority and marginalized groups in Berlin and people between 18 and 27 years old! Try out sessions on 22/05/2022 and 24/05/2022 choose one and let’s play! \nThe workshop is free but registrations are needed. To register:  please email your details and day of preference (22nd or 24th) to nadeemy@riseup.net \nLanguage: Arabic and English \n  \nAbout the artist: \n_Nadeem \nNadeem is a theatre practitioner\, filmmaker and visiting lecturer based in Berlin. His relationship with theatre started years ago in Cairo as he struggled with his surrounding social and political reality and needed a new way to connect\, feel more present in his body and have fun. Since then\, he has performed in numerous interactive and improvised theatre performances among other forms of public performances. Prior to his theatre training he studied and worked in Filmmaking\, politics and economics. He continuously aims at finding ways to mix these topics as a multidisciplinary artist. \n  \n◥ At Oyoun\, there is no place for sexism\, queerphobia\, transphobia\, any form of racism or discrimination such as anti-Black\, anti-Muslim or anti-Jewish racism\, and any sort of violent or aggressive behaviour.
