DESCRIPTION:You are invited to take part in an interactive audiowalk by the Autoplot collective. Their project "Mapping stories" are about a playful and accessible installation\, a kind of course that deals with questions of identity and its circumstances and tries to make them tangible for as many participants as possible. The focus of the concept is the imagery of the bridge and the map\, as well as the basic assumption that people do not appropriate their surroundings\, but are in constant exchange with it and leave traces. Traces in the form of stories. \nThe stories are based on interviews with diverse people living and working in Berlin. The focus of the audiowalk is on opportunities for the participants to meet and to not meet. Together we try to dive into different narratives like stories we tell ourselves (inner narratives)\, stories we are told (societal narratives\, stories we know (cultural narratives)\, stories we share (familial and community narratives) and hopefully stories to guide us (narratives for the Future). \nFor participating please take your phone and your earphones with you to enjoy the sound design by Autoplot. SUMMARY:DJ Performance: Mobilegirl | THE PATH
DESCRIPTION:As a DJ\, Mobilegirl (IG: @mobilegirl) is versatile but thoughtful in her selection – her style behind the decks is focused on creating a highly energetic dance floor that allows for emotionality\, for softer moments but also attention-demanding breaks and shifts; an equally fun and challenging combination that gained her traction very early on in her career and established her as an artist to watch in experimental club music – bringing about tours across Europe\, East Asia and North America and a spot on the roster of DISCWOMAN. \nReflecting her general curiosity Mobilegirl's inspirations draw from a broad pool that intentionally make her rather difficult to categorize. However\, she has made a name for herself through club edits of R&B classics; a predilection for which draws through all of her work. Another influence\, not less apparent\, are video game scores. Her fascination with the repetitive and soothing effect of music in RPGs accordingly set the foundation for her debut EP Poise released in 2017 – a string of tracks that seemed untypically mellow but were created in an effort to decelerate and invite the listener to do the same. DESCRIPTION:Film screening and artist talk: "Rantİstanbul" - "Surplus of Istanbul" by Ömer Şamlı\, Devrim Çetinkayalı and Alper Şen \n// Doors Open 18:30 // Event Start 19:00 \nBook your free ticket here \n\n***\nIstanbul has expanded its borders and created new living spaces and suburbs according to the rules of neoliberal capital. In the name of “urban transformation”\, the city has turned into a commercial meta that only allows citizens to live in the city if they can survive between the wheels of this commercial cycle. \nThe projects "Rantİstanbul" and "Surplus of Istanbul" recorded this transformation by overlapping and working together between 2010-15. “Rantİstanbul” has recorded the urban transformation and gentrification in Tarlabaşı audiovisually by following the results of this gentrification against the people of Tarlabaşı and the reasons for this gentrification by asking what makes the buildings more valuable than the people\, who use them as accommodation. "Surplus of Istanbul" looks at the city's litter from the center of Beyoğlu city to the outskirts of Istanbul\, Umraniye\, by creating a personal map of where the litter from the people who are the usual victims of urban transformation and gentrification\, collected and reused. \nThese two projects tell the stories and show the recordings of "transformed/renewed" Istanbul that leaves the objects and people behind\, and the utopia in Gezi Park that gave rise to the resistance to this transformation. We claim that urban transformation and gentrification are not unique concepts for Istanbul\, and that this transformation continues around different axes in Berlin. That is why we plan to record and research the traces of Berlin left by urban transformation and gentrification with workshops. \n\n*** \nAfter the film screening and an inspiring conversation with the artist\, we look forward to a DJ-Set by Mobilegirl starting at 22:00. In addition\, we will focus on the connection between Berlin and Istanbul\, which continues to have an effect even after this change in the cultural policy\, and whose status and perspectives we want to explore. We also want to discuss the encounter of the different generations of immigrants from Turkey. \nWe are looking forward to an inspiring conversation. Von 1996 bis 2010 war er Kulturredakteur des "freitag". Von 2007 bis 2009 sein Redaktionsleiter. Redakteursstationen bei taz und Deutschlandfunk Kultur. Seither Autor und Kritiker. Mitglied des Präsidiums der neuen Gesellschaft für Bildende Kunst (nGbK). Spezialgebiet: Global Art\, Kunst und Politik\, Kunst und Geschichte\, Kunst und Kultur der Türkei. \nBanu Karaca is an anthropologist and the author of The National Frame: Art and State Violence in Turkey and Germany (2021). She is the co-founder of Siyah Bant\, a research platform that documents censorship in the arts in Turkey. Currently a EUME Fellow of the Volkswagen Foundation at the Forum Transregionale Studien\, Berlin\, Banu continues her research on how looted and dispossessed art has shaped the legal and scholarly knowledge production on art in Turkey and the wider European context. \nAs a researcher\, Verena Niepel works on understanding relationships between contemporary artists from Turkey\, curators and actors in cultural policies in Berlin. After living and working as a journalist\, researcher and painter in Berlin and Istanbul\, Verena decided to answer those questions in a dissertation project at Newcastle University (UK) that she started in 2019. \nPersefoni Myrtsou is a visual & performance artist\, an anthropologist\, a mother\, and a feminist\, currently occupied with a PhD project exploring the migration motives and socioartistic practices of artists who work in and between Istanbul\, Athens and Berlin. In both her academic and artistic practice\, Persefoni is working on denationalizing/decolonizing dominant discourses through focusing on emic perspectives and through the artistic use of tools such as subversion\, cultural appropriation and humour. Recently\, she became engaged with peace & care activism in the Greece-Turkey context. His work is mainly influenced by the perception of the environment\, the image of the city\, neoliberal transformations\, the tension between nature and technology\, and collective movements. Currently\, he is a researcher at the Topological Atlas project hosted by TU Delft and a guest lecturer at Berlin International University of Applied Sciences. \nAsli Duru is an urban geographer\, cultural facilitator\, and creative practitioner. Through her work\, she aims to expand the knowledge on the embodied ways to understand and transform the spatial configurations of oppressive\, exclusionary\, discriminatory social relations. Central to this project is developing the tools to navigate the transient spatiality of the body itself as a tech-mediated\, emotionally extended and intersectionally vulnerable landscape. These questions so far have energized various research projects in Munich\, Istanbul\, Oxford\, Berlin that interrogated spatial experiences of memory\, mobility\, violence\, and more recently\, of the links between urban space and gendered mental health. \nBanu Çiçek Tülü is a researcher\, artist and DJ with a background in urban design from South-East Turkey based in Berlin. She has been living and working in Berlin since 2017. Since 2017\, I have been doing my doctorate at the Berlin University of the Arts\, at the Faculty of Design and working in the Gropius Bau as a member of the education team. She has worked in NGOs for many years and coordinated community-based art and culture projects\, as well as human rights projects. She also curated an exhibition on the refugee problem in Berlin in 2017. She was awarded the Echoing Green (2007) and Ashoka (2012) Fellowship Prizes. \nIna Weber (*1964) lives and works in Berlin. 1989 - 94 Studies at the University of Kassel with Harry Kramer and Martin Kippenberger; since 2016 professor for sculpture at the UdK Universität der Künste\, Berlin. \nPegah Keshmirshekan is currently working and living in Berlin\, Germany. The key question that she deals with in her artistic practice is how collective identities contribute to the formation of one’s personhood in the globalized world. Pegah has co-curated events and seminars on aspects of inter-cultural practices in contemporary art such as Fava Connection and Iran101. She is also a co-founder of the initiative I.D.A. (Intersectionality\, Diversity\, Antidiscrimination) and a member of the Soltity Collective. \nPatrizia Bach is a visual artist living and working in Berlin. Her main artistic medium is drawing while she has been working on topics such as archiving\, collecting\, and re-arranging as well as approaching the city as a site of memory\, history and storage. For the past decade\, she has been focusing on long-term projects that include in-depth research processes which result in expansive drawing installations that take over architecture. She also works in several interdisciplinary collaborations\, notably with Regina Dürig. SUMMARY:W/O ADDITIVES X DECOLONOIZE present: Breezy / Naari / Oyèmi Noize
DESCRIPTION:w/o additives' has set itself the task of creating spaces and visibility for BIPoC artists. On the exhibition evening\, this will happen on three levels - on the one hand\, there will be an exhibition that offers an insight into the musical socialisation of the founder of 'w/o additives' based on her personal biography. On the other hand\, this will take place along selected BIPoC artists who have a special significance for her and offered a surface for identification. Illustrations showing these artists and texts providing a personal insight will be on display. This will be complemented and rounded off by DECOLONOIZE\, a newly founded collective of BIPoC musicians and music lovers that offers black and artists of colour a platform for concerts and other forms of performance. The following artists will be performing: Oyèmi Noize\, Breezy and NAARI. \nBreezy \nBreezy is a Berlin-based hip hop artist on a mission to infiltrate every kiez with the exploration of race\, gender expression\, queerness\, and the universe of intersectionality. A rapper who can not only sing but an artist who pushes the boundaries of how hip hop should sound. \nBreezy embodies more than a cool breeze on a warm summer day. With her music\, the Berliner-by-choice remains constantly in motion and thus resembles an entire climate zone between pattering rainfall\, hot flashes\, purring winds and bursting thunderstorms. The interplay of hip-hop\, soul\, blues and gospel opens up the sonic space for Breezy's powerful content: As the queer daughter of a Black and a white parent\, Breezy's music explores the meaning\, boundaries and belonging of her identity. The self-designation "Mulatto Music" thereby describes the process of her self-discovery on the one hand\, but at the same time reclaims the interpretive sovereignty over this - when used as a description of others - racist term in order to establish an empowering representation of her personality as well as social belonging. \nIG: @breeezyfosheeez\nFacebook: Breezy \nNAARI \nNeeraja a.k.a NAARI\, is a musician and vocalist from New Delhi\, India. From the beginning of her career\, her voice and musicality commanded attention. Through this\, she reinvented her name\, deleted her music and started over with her moniker NAARI. \nThis was done to make her ethnicity\, social status and gender a little more anonymous. The single "One" was the first release under the name. The debut e.p everythingiseverything; deals with her relationship to Berlin\, sexual love and anxiety. DESCRIPTION:Manuscripts of Foreign Body(s)\, is a critical visual collective workshops-based project\, by Ahmad Baba and Michalina Mrozek\, proposing the approach of\, TLGBQIA+ bodies of color\, as manuscripts of duality; being sites of oppressions as well as sites of resilience. The project will be developed\, through organizing critical collective practices\, in two days intensive workshops\,“ Foreign intimacies Workshops Weekend “ on the 4th and 5th of September 2021 at Oyoun. \nThe workshops are platforms for experimenting and developing a communication mechanism\, from/to TQ BIPOC identifying individuals\, enhancing our own interpersonal relationships\, as well as how we can find a middle line for circulating experiences\, without judgement neither evaluation\, but more of sharing\, reflecting\, relating\, constructive criticism\, and developing something new. \nThe intimate collective workshops will invite QTBIPOC artists from different disciplines to come together and create a safe(r) space(s)\, for investigating bodies on different levels\, and bring forward narratives that speak to their own personal stories. Together we will develop a driving force that lacks in many spaces we exist in\, and see how we could focus on the discourses of resilience through the lens of our struggles\, and not the opposite. The workshops will emphasize on body politics approaches\, empowerment of bodies of color\, oneness and closeness\, and how bodies of color\, as sites of oppressions\, could develop a mechanism of defense without burning out one's mental capacities. \n*The workshops will be in English and translated into German\, Arabic and Polish. \nAnmeldung // Registration \nProgramme Saturday\n11-12:30 Decolonizing Embodiment Workshops (Dance Therapy)\nEverybody is a body\, but not everybody experiences their bodies in the same way. The intersection between race\, gender\, sexuality\, ethnicity construct our bodies and experiences that we didn’t have a choice on. The body(s)\, specifically of Color and Queer\, are at once sites of\, oppression\, resistance\, and resilience. So how can we experience embodiment with each other\, but most importantly with ourselves? And how does collective dancing or movement emphasize our individual experience(s) in our bodies and in relation to other bodies? In these series of workshops\, we will investigate body(s) from a therapeutic approach\, of how we can express what our bodies hold within\, from microaggressions to racism\, from resistance to empowerment\, so we can find our ways back to our body(s) through the movement cycles and the manifestations of our stories that we present through our body(s). \nThe workshops will go for two hours\, including an opening circle\, several interventions and a closure/reflection round ending the session. You don't need to have dance experiences. These workshops are a priority for QTBIPOC individuals\, and everybody else is welcome if they understand the space they are attending and their position in it. For the past four years\, she has increasingly realised projects with people of LGBTQ+ orientation\, through which she has developed her own and respected style of working with queer people. \n--- \nProgramme Sunday\n11-12:30 Drag personas as Mythological creatures : Be your own Guardian angel\, Monster and Superhero\nStrategy for marginalized bodies to go against the dominant narrative when creating their drag personas. How to envision and conceptualize your drag persona. From finding the right name\, experimentation with makeups and looks\, to composing your performance. Using drag as a way of analyzing the complexities of your identities\, twisting others' projections on you\, reclaiming the parts of you that are degraded by the dominant narrative of the society. Drag begins with acknowledging the foreignness of your body. Perceptions of gender presentation\, body shape\, skin color\, hair have an incredible influence on the way were socially perceived\, and by consequence\, desired. For people of color and trans people\, these perceptions frame all your sex experiences and often creates layers of trauma that stop you to allowing yourself to new experiences. Desires are not natural\, they’re learned. There is no such a thing as “preferences”\, desire is thought and desire is a product of the experience. For BDSM practitioners and kinksters in general\, desire can be a very tricky topic. Who’s DOM and WHO’S sub? Are some folks socially perceived as sub and others as DOM? What does being a top and being a bottom mean? What is a power bottom or a submissive top? The same way I believe gender is not a stationary state\, neither are sexual roles. I believe we’re all tied up in several social ropes and can only move in certain ways. THE DESIRE LAB is a workshop shaped as a round of discussion\, where attendants are encouraged to speak up about how we wish we were desired as we see ourselves and study them together. DESCRIPTION:Connecting artist and audience using intimate live sets through\, Hip Hop\, RnB\, Soul\, Afro Beats\, Dancehall Reggae and more. \nGet your tickets here \nThe Berlin Radio Show (TBRS) is a Berlin-based radio show centred around highlighting Hip Hop\, RnB\, Afrobeat\, Reggae\, Dancehall and Soul artists of the diaspora through conversations and discussions. The goal is to interview each artist about their passions\, influences\, backgrounds\, aspirations\, and more. We do this with the full intention of providing a platform for artist and their audience to connect deeper. \nHAVEN\, as its name suggest\, is a safe space for artists to showcase their skills and talent on stage in front of a live audience. HAVEN is an entity of Tones of Melanin TV which is a YouTube channel that focuses on health and healing within the Black and Indigenous People of Colour communities. We strive to hear the stories of individuals and heal through panel discussions\, yoga and reiki\, podcasts\, good news\, children’s stories\, party events such as HAVEN and much more. \nTBRS and HAVEN decided to team up to create the interview/ showcase platform which will provide the artist with more opportunities to gain traction for themselves and their music as well as get paid for their time \nOur passion is not only music but delving into the world of the artist behind the music. Set up as a small on-air talk show\, the invited guests have an opportunity to share themselves and their work with the world. The Berlin Radio Show goes live every Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm\, it is a part of the THF Radio platform where we live stream episodes of the show. All episodes are then uploaded to our SoundCloud page for more visibility after the show has been aired. \nAs a dynamic group of people that is passionate about music\, we are constantly expanding and creating new ways for artists to present their music and inspire others on our show\, hence\, the collaboration now between Tones of Melanin TV (HAVEN) and TBRS. \nWith this\, we plan to add a visual aspect recording the live shows and putting on YouTube creating a larger platform and audience for the artist to showcase their work. \nThe goal is to have a nice balance between music and conversation\, providing quality entertainment whilst allowing for the artist to stay true to their artform. \nGet your tickets here

Dynamic of identities and personas are represented by an artistic reinterpretation of the drama triangle in a Wayang Golek performance. The question of the possibilities of female action competence and the power of redefining a self-image in relation to topics such as sexual harassment\,abuse of power\,disadvantage and discrimination are in the room during the entire performance. \nThe play is dedicated to the special relationship between audience and performer by involving the audience in the dilemmas of persecutor-victim-rescuer relationships throughout the play.The drama triangle is an effective psychological and social model of conflict resolution on the dynamics of recurring and ongoing conflicts. There are numerous historical and current examples of these dramas\, which continue to this day. \nGhaliz is an indonesian artist currently studying event technology and management at beuth university of applied science berlin. He founded musicratory a program for thengerhin radio berlin\, where he curated indonesian related experimental musician. Using found objects\, synthesizer\, fx pedals he created sound compositions that heavily influenced by human interaction\, sunn o)))\, and anime. \nRiako Napitupulu was born in 1983 in Wuppertal\, now working and living in Berlin. She is a multidisciplinary artist as a performer\, butoh and impro- dancer\, painter\, art therapist\, art mediator and social worker.Growing up between German grey skyscrapers and an Indonesian-Japanese elite family\, she addresses interpersonal relationships\, exploring identity between cultures\, sexuality and social inequality\, as well as her intersectional experiences as a young migrant single mother. \nHer particular passion for participatory projects and community projects in public spaces witha wide variety of groups is reflected in her local art projects as a performer and art mediator in Berlin Biennale 10&11\, 48 Stunden Neukölln\, HAU\, Ballhaus Ost etc. She is co-founder of the fluid multimedia collective polysense art and since 2019 and performer in the performance-music Project Callas & Dollars. Siman is caught by guards and his tongue cut off. Siman goes through life in slow-motion imitating an astronaut in outer space\, labelled as crazy. \nYosep Anggi Noen is an Indonesian film director who's been experimenting with cinematic narratives since mid-2000s. Bor in Yogyakarta on 1983\, he studied Communications at the Socio-Politics Faculty of Yogyakarta's Gadjah Mada University. After directing and producing several short films\, he directed his first feature\, Peculiar Vacation and Other Ilnesses (2012)\, which premiered in Locarno International Film Festival. At Vancouver International Film Festival\, the film received the Special Mention Award followed by the Dragon and Tiger Award for Young Cinema. In their journey they revisit different destinations expressed through sound and movement. Through this process they explore new perspectives on the meaning of identity\, home and belonging\, inspired by the artists´ versatile biographies. Fact-meets-fiction in a fresh interpretation that highlights the audio samples from the festivals´ artworks into a live happening through dance and music. A mind hack about becoming wholesome. \nBintang Manira Manik is a multi-instrumentalist focusing on hand percussion from Bandung\, Indonesia. Growing up in a visual & performing arts family\, in a non profit cultural center\, Jendela Ide\, he started to play music at the age of nine. Practicing Djembe\, Latin Percussion and Kendang Sunda an authentic percussion instrument from Indonesia. Recently finishing his 3 years scholarship under Indian Council of Cultural Relation (ICCR) at Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra\, New Delhi\, India\, majoring in Tabla and learned Dhrupad vocal and Tuvan throat singing. \nHe has been encountered with musician coming from diverse cultural backgrounds\, through workshops and residencies and become enamored with world music. Receiving Yamaha Music Award in Asia for his multi percussion composition & solo performance at the age of 17. Composed some electro ambient music combined with percussion. Developed and worked in collaboration with a Sundanese traditional progressive rock group Sound of Hanamangke - Indonesia and a world music group Trippy Sama - India. Conceiver and music director of Raag of Javadwipa and Cakravala Mandala Dvipantara\, which trace the history and cultural relation of Indonesian music. \nBeside creatively creating music and working in collaboration with choreographers\, theater directors and visual artist\, at the culture center developed by the family\, he teaches percussion for kids\, include special needs. \nBerlin based artist Ardian Hartono (born in Bogor Indonesia 1979) thrives in the space between. It is the intersection of energy and tension\, spontaneity and purpose\, self-expression and service\, the spiritual and the elemental. As a performer his passion – the essence of life itself – is cultivating the unpredictable. His exploration of body communication has led him to many places\, cultures\, teachings and experiences. The self-described teleporter has spent decades diving into dance\, theatre\, somatic work and martial arts. Every mentor\, collaborator or creation a waypoint on his journey of awakening\, encapsulating his fascination for storytelling\, ritualism\, symbolism and mysticism. Check! ist ein Jugend-Tanztheater-Projekt der LGBTIQ* und PoC Community\, dass es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht hat\, Geschichte neu zu schreiben und zu erzählen\, durch eine queer*feministische\, anti-klassistische Perspektive zu erweitern. \nCheck Team \nDen Kern von Check! bildet eine feste Gruppe von ca. 10 Jugendlichen Berliner PoC und LGBTIQ* Community im Alter von 10 bis 14 Jahren\, die angeleitet werden\, durch die Theater- und Tanz- Pädagoginnen Senait Sebhatleab und Lorena Valdenegro. \nKonzept \nWir arbeiten unter den Themen Rassismus\, Diskriminierung und Gleichgerichtichkeit. Die Jugendlichen sind eingeladen ihre eigene Erfahrungen auf die Bühne zu bringen und ihre Geschichten durch Tanz und Bewegungen zu erzählen.  Wir arbeiten mit dem Topic\, jede*r erzählt was jede*r will. Nichts wird gezwungen. During his search\, he meets a Chinese Indonesian woman who’s hiding from the masses. They end up sharing a journey through the night\, in hopes of getting back to their families. After a tense encounter with a group of rioters\, the driver fears his wife’s safety is not guaranteed and doubts his decision to help the woman. \nAndrew KOSE is a writer/director who has made short films across Jakarta\, Singapore\, Bangkok and Melbourne. He earned a Diploma in Broadcast Media from LASALLE College of the Arts Singapore and a Bachelor of Fine Art (Film and Television) from the Victorian College of the Arts\, Melbourne. In 2017\, he co-founded Pasar Malam Films\, a production house seeking to bring the revolutionary spirit of French and Taiwanese New Wave into their works. Andrew’s latest short film\, Sunny Side of the Street (2019)\, competed at the International Short Film Week Regensburg and SeaShorts Film Festival. The film has also received several recognitions across prestigious local film festivals in Indonesia such as Festival Film Indonesia\, Jogja Asian-Netpac Film Festival and Balinale. Andrew believes that a film should be both culturally specific yet humanly universal. He takes inspiration from ordinary people around him in the subtle yet complex stories of urban life in Jakarta. \nAKAR (2013) — AMELIA HAPSARI\n→ Short Documentary / 23 min / english subtitles \nWhen I was little there was a dream that kept coming to scare me. I went home but nobody recognized me. When I grew up\, my dream changed. I keep chasing my dreams\, without knowing where it will take me. This is a film about where I come from\, where dreams are forgotten and love is never spoken.  \nAmelia Hapsari has been working in various media organizations in China\, Indonesia\, and East Timor since 2005. Her roles include managing\, strategizing\, grant-writing\, mentoring\, producing\, writing and directing for radio\, television and films. Among her productions are documentaries\, television programs\, comic books\, short films\, animation\, and radio features. She is also part of a Southeast Asian network for documentary filmmakers called DocNet Southeast Asia. Her documentaries have won awards and been shown in Indonesian and international film festivals. \nSHIN HUA (2020) — ERICK SUTANTO\n→ Short Documentary / 15 min / english subtitles \nShin Hua\, a well-known barbershop in Surabaya was first built in 1911 by siblings of 12. However\, Freddy was the only one who decided to take charge over their father’s company.  \nYears have went by and Freddy\, independently\, perseveres his hardworking passion for the barber shop. Although this company was a success\, this barbershop gradually discontinued unto the family’s descendants. Shin Hua begun losing their customers and went through bankruptcy. Despite the declining sales\, Freddy remains faithful to his work in the barber shop.  \nErick Sutanto born in Surabaya on November 30\, 2000\, is a dreamy student who is currently majoring in Film at Multimedia Nusantara University. According to him\, the film is a very powerful medium\, which can change the perspective and cause various feelings in the audience. Currently\, Erick is pursuing his part as a Director. Besides films\, he also loves music which he then implements into his films\, to bring a certain nuance. His vision in every work created is how he conveys his voice\, through every message and elements contained in every scene \nANGPAO (2020) — STEFANUS CANCAN\n→ Short Film / 17 min / english subtitles \nTo get Angpao on Chinese New Year\, MICHAEL (8) has to memorize the calls of each family member. Thanks to his efforts\, he gets a lot of Angpao . But Michael wasn’t satisfied because his rival\, ROGER (10)\, received more Angpao than him from a MYSTERIOUS MAN (45) whom Michael doesn’t know. Michael tries to find a way to get Angpao from the Mysterious Man.  \nStefanus Cancan\, a director and one of the founders of Kelas Cancan - an organization that focuses on equal distribution of film and videography education throughout Indonesia. Cancan just won an award as The Best National Director at the Lampung Film Festival. In addition to various national film festivals\, the films he directed also have screened at international film festivals in several countries\, such as the United Kingdom\, Nigeria\, and India. His latest film\, "Angpao" has passed as the official selection and now currently competing at the Minikino Film Week 7\, Bali International Film Festival in the National Competition category. \nLANGIT MASIH GEMURUH (2015) — JASON ISKANDAR\n→ Short Film / 10 min / english subtitles \nJakarta\, Indonesia - May 1998\, during two days of mass violence\, rioters killed thousands of people\, most of Chinese descent. A single Chinese-Indonesian mother struggles to save her family as the riot rises near their neighbourhood. But for her 8 years old daughter\, that was the day the sky roared.  \nJason Iskandar was born in Jakarta\, February 1\, 1991. As a child he watched Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park and since then he has aspired to become a film director. He started his directing career when he was 17 years old. His short films\, such as Territorial Pissings (2010)\, Seserahan (2013)\, Balik Jakarta (2016)\, Elegi Melodi (2018)\, etc. have been screened and won several awards\, both at domestic and international festivals. In 2020\, he announced his first feature-length film project called Akhirat: A Love Story and will be released in 2021. The film\, starring Adipati Dolken and Della Dartyan\, is produced by BASE Entertainment with Studio Antelope. Jason Iskandar is also listed as the founder of Studio Antelope\, along with producer Florence Giovani. Studio Antelope is a production company that not only produces feature films\, but also collaborates with various prestigious brands to create branded content on smaller screens. \nTHE FOX EXPLOITS THE TIGER'S MIGHT (2015) — LUCKY KUSWANDI\n→ Short Film / 24 min / english subtitles \nTwo preteen boys discover their sexuality and the relation between power and sex\, in the awkward social setting of a sleepy small town with a military base. David is the big-shot boastful son of a high-ranking officer\, while Aseng’s family is an ethnic minority tobacco merchant who sells bootleg liquor.  \nLucky Kuswandi is one of Indonesia’s most exciting young directors. His films have been screened in International festivals worldwide\, receiving accolades\, awards and distribution. The Wall Street Journal praises his work as “original and uncharted.” In 2010 he directed his first full-length film MADAME X. Center to his artistic practice is subjects related to institutionalized information. Many of his works deal with state censorship\, neglected archives\, and speculative histories. Lazuardi studied media arts and film at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg. His works and programs have been presented in many festivals\, institutions\, and off spaces\, among others\, IFFR Rotterdam\, Klubvizija Zagreb\, Image Forum Tokyo\, and Yamaguchi Contemporary Art and Media.
