SUMMARY:Talk | AUTOPOIESIS | Publishing as Poiesis
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Party Office (Coral\, Pranita Thorat\, Vidisha-Fadescha)\, Fehras Publishing Practices (Sami Rustom & Kenan Darwich) and Nino Bulling\, moderated by Shaunak Mahbubani  \nContinuing AUTOPOIESIS\, curator Shaunak Mahbubani invites Party Office\, Fehras Publishing Practices and Nino Bulling to elaborate on recent publishing projects presented at documenta fifteen. Party Office collaborators Coral and Pranita will speak about the publishing process foregrounding first-person narratives within the anthology 'Towards a Dalit Structure of Archiving' produced from the annual Archiving Fellowship awarded to cultural activist group Samata Kala Manch. Sami Rustom and Kenan Darwich of Fehras Publishing Practices will reflect on the usage of the photo novel as a pop format to disseminate knowledge and narratives in their artistic and historical research project examining publishing culture\, 'Borrowed Faces'. Nino Bulling will expand on their artistic process towards the publication of the graphic novel firebugs / abfackeln\, and its manifestation into the installation 'sometimes when we kiss\, it feels like I am drinking water from your mouth'.  \nTickets: Free admission \nAUTOPOIESIS is particularly interested in creative processes that facilitate the sharing of personal and community stories towards the building of transnational solidarities. Within this framework the discussion will pick up on the challenges and joys of independent publishing allowing for greater agency in telling stories by under-represented groups. AUTOPOIESIS is the fourth part in the exhibition series Allies for the Uncertain Futures\, building upon the writings of Sylvia Wynter\, curated by Shaunak Mahbubani with curatorial advisors Vidisha-Fadescha\, Eli Moon and Madhumita Nandi. \nThis project is supported by the Goethe Institute Visual Arts Fund 2022.  \nAllies for the Uncertain Futures\, initiated by Shaunak Mahbubani\, is an ongoing multipart exhibition series exploring possibilities of co-visioning equitable futures\, grounded in the Buddhist philosophy of non-duality.
