Er trifft dabei auf den Architekten Choi Chang-kyu\, der in Japan studiert hat. Choi wurde als Ingenieur für das japanische Kaiserreich nach China geschickt und erfuhr dort aus erster Hand von den schrecklichen Bedingungen\, denen die koreanischen Mädchen als „Trostfrauen“ ausgesetzt waren. Yamatani erhält Informationen über eine ehemalige koreanische Trostfrau\, die in Okinawa lebt\, und macht sich auf\, ihre kleine Hütte inmitten von Zuckerrohrfeldern im Süden Okinawas zu besuchen… \nDiese Veranstaltung ist vom Korea Verband e.V. mitorganisiert. \n가닥 Gadag ist ein von der Lotto Stiftung Berlin gefördertes Projekt von Oyoun\, dessen öffentliches Programm vom 24. An diesem Performance-Abend präsentieren die GADAG Lab-Künstler*innen ihr kollektiv erarbeitetes Erzählungsstück. Mein Name ist Kim Bok-Dong.\, 2019\, 101 min.\nUntertitel: mit englischen Untertitel \nDas Kaiserliche japanische Militär unterhielt für seine Soldaten von 1932-1945 sogenannte „Troststationen“\, in denen unzählige junge Frauen und Mädchen aus mehreren Ländern Ost- und Südostasiens sexueller Gewalt ausgesetzt waren. In den 1990er Jahren traten zahlreiche Betroffene an die Öffentlichkeit und begründeten eine soziale Bewegung\, die für die Aufarbeitung dieser Geschichte kämpft. \nKim Bok-Dong (1926-2019) war eine dieser sogenannten Militär-„Trostfrauen“. Von 1992 bis zu ihrem Tod im Jahr 2019 engagierte sie sich unermüdlich in der Bewegung und trug als Frauenrechtlerin die Friedensbotschaft in die Welt. Der Dokumentarfilm zeigt das Leben dieser großen Kämpferin mit unbeugsamem Willen\, die noch mit 90 Jahren die Welt bereiste. Stock) \nEine Workshopreihe in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Korea Verband \nIm Rahmen des Projektes "가닥 GADAG – Fäden der Erinnerungen" organisieren Oyoun und der Korea Verband die offene und partizipative Kreativwerkstatt „Share Your Empathy“ für Groß und Klein.   \nTeilnehmende werden durch die multimediale Ausstellung „Unsere Körper\, unser Kampf\, unsere Geschichten“\, die in Kooperation mit Spicy Ginkgo entstanden ist\, dazu inspiriert\, selbst künstlerisch aktiv zu werden. Sie können in der Kreativwerkstatt z.B. Stock) \nEin Workshop zum Empowerment durch visuelles Storytelling mit Tauben Menschen. Dieser Workshop zielt darauf ab\, verschiedene Tools zu verwenden\, um die gelebten Erfahrungen von Tauben Menschen zu dokumentieren und zu vermitteln. \nDer Workshop wird von der Tauben Aktivist*innen Hyemi\, My-Le\, Mimi\, Mai und Le Dan geleitet und richtet sich ausschließlich an Taube Personen. \nFür die Teilnahme schickt uns eine kurze Nachricht an dami@oyoun.de. \n\n Hyemi Jo (she/her): I come from South Korea and I am Deaf. I work as an artist\, activist\, and web designer in Berlin. I am engaged in political activities that enhance the visibility and strengthen the voices of the Deaf community. I find Berlin a very diverse city where\, for example\, BIPOC and Queer people from various backgrounds live together. April: 15:30-18:00 Uhr \n„Unsere Körper\, unser Kampf\, unsere Geschichten“ \nEine partizipative Ausstellung von  In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Korea Verband und Spicy Ginkgo Collective \nKriege und Konflikte hinterlassen tiefe Spuren in der Geschichte und in den Erinnerungen der Menschen. Doch welche Geschichten werden erzählt und welche bleiben ungesagt? Wer wird in Denkmälern und Gedenkstätten gewürdigt\, und wessen Leiden werden übersehen? Und wer erhebt seine Stimme\, um das Schweigen zu brechen und die Geschichten derjenigen ans Licht zu bringen\, die oft vergessen werden? \nIn der Ausstellung “Unsere Körper\, unser Kampf\, unsere Geschichten” zeigen wir die verbindende Kraft der Friedensstatue in Berlin-Moabit\, einer Gedenkstätte für „Trostfrauen”. „Trostfrauen” wurden im asiatisch-pazifischen Raum während des Zweiten Weltkriegs von der japanischen Kaiserlichen Armee sexuell versklavt und mussten während des Krieges als „Trostfrauen“ dienen und Soldaten „trösten“.  \nDie Friedensstatue ist somit auch ein Mahnmal gegen sexualisierte Gewalt in Kriegszeiten\, das transnationale Bewegungen\, marginalisierte Communities und städtische Nachbarschaften zusammenbringt. Generationenübergreifend formt sie durch ihre Präsenz Dialoge über Verstrickungen\, die schwer aufzudröseln sind: Kolonialismus und sexualisierte Gewalt\, Schweige- und Schamkulturen\, antikoloniale Bewegungsgeschichte und feministischer Widerstand. \nVerschiedene Arbeiten und Objekte dokumentieren in der Ausstellung wie die Friedensstatue durch ihre nahbare Unmittelbarkeit im Stadtbild Menschen in Bewegung setzt und zum Sprechen bringt: \nIn Form von Film und Installation werden künstlerische Ergebnisse aus der langjährigen Arbeit des Korea Verbands mit Jugendlichen\, die diesen Fragen in der Behandlung der Geschichte der sogenannten „Trostfrauen“ nachgegangen sind. Die Friedensstatue fungiert dabei als pädagogisches Medium\, um die Komplexität der Themen Kolonialismus und sexualisierte Gewalt zu vermitteln. Es wird das Schweigen der Betroffenen wegen Scham und Schuldgefühlen sowie das Leugnen des Verbrechens durch die Täter thematisiert. Neben der historischen Aufarbeitung zielt die Arbeit mit Jugendlichen auch darauf ab\, das Bewusstsein für sexualisierte Gewalt in vergangenen und aktuellen Kriegssituationen sowie in den eigenen Lebenswelten der Jugendlichen zu schärfen. Durch die Arbeit soll den Jugendlichen der Mut\, das Schweigen zu brechen\, und die Empathie für Betroffene vermittelt werden. \nIm interaktiven Part der Ausstellung präsentiert das Spicy Ginkgo Kollektiv das aktivistische Netzwerk\, das sich seit 2020 um die Friedensstatue gesponnen hat: als antikoloniales und feministisches Mahnmal ist sie zentraler Bezugspunkt für verschiedene politische Kämpfe. Soziale Bewegungen und marginalisierte Communities kehren immer wieder zu ihr zurück\, um ihre Anliegen in die Öffentlichkeit Berlins – und weit darüber hinaus – zu tragen. Der Friedensstatue und ihnen ist der Kampf gegen die Verdrängung von Gewalterfahrungen aus kollektiven Gedächtnissen sowie die Adressierung gegenwärtiger Unrechtsverhältnisse gemein. In Form von ausgestellten Reden\, Video- und Fotomaterial wird Besuchenden Einblick in die solidarischen Beziehungen und Verwandtschaften gegeben. Allmählich verdichten sich ihre Stimmen zu einer Kakophonie reiner klanglicher Intensität vor einem extremen Zeitlupenbild einer Überlebenden der sexuellen Versklavung durch das japanische Militär\, die in Ermangelung von Worten\, die ihr Leiden genau beschreiben könnten\, aufsteht und in die Mitte eines Gerichtssaals eines Kriegsverbrechertribunals geht und wild gestikuliert\, bevor sie in Ohnmacht fällt. \nThe Woman\, The Orphan\, and The Tiger untersucht die Art und Weise\, wie Traumata von früheren Generationen an die Gegenwart durch ein Gefühl des Verfolgtseins weitergegeben werden. Der Film folgt einer Gruppe von transnational Adoptierten und anderen Frauen der koreanischen Diaspora in ihren 20er und 30er Jahren. Dabei enthüllt der Film\, wie das Wiederauftreten der Verdrängten etablierte Erzählungen herausfordert und ins Wanken bringt. Diese Erzählungen dienen dazu\, die Geschichten von Schmerz und Gewalt\, die den Körpern und Leben von Frauen und Kindern zugefügt wurden\, zu verschweigen. \nEs wird eine Genealogie erstellt\, indem die Geschichten von drei Generationen von Frauen erzählt werden: die ehemaligen "Trostfrauen"\, die zwischen dem Ersten und dem Zweiten Weltkrieg vom japanischen Militär sexuell versklavt wurden\, die Frauen\, die seit den 1950er Jahren bis heute in der Nähe von US-Militärstützpunkten in Südkorea als Sexarbeiterinnen arbeiten\, und die transnationalen Adoptierten\, die seit dem Koreakrieg von Südkorea in den Westen gekommen sind. \nDie filmische Erzählung\, die sich aus mündlichen Zeugnissen\, Gedichten\, öffentlichen Statements und Interviewfragmenten zusammensetzt\, entfaltet sich auf nicht-chronologische und vielschichtige Weise. Are you looking for tips and tricks on how to effectively promote your work? \nWe invite you for an interactive exchange in various workshops with Hati\, Lara\, Louna\, Madhu\, Mithra\, Nina\, Nora\, Tariq and Yodit from the Oyoun team. What you can expect are practical exercises on how to create a customised Electronic Press Kit\, valuable sharing of resources and experiences\, and various networking opportunities. \nThis is a series of thematic and interrelated workshops. You are welcome to register for all\, several or selected workshops. \n*** \n"Performing Resistance" - a workshop by Lara Chahal + Madhumita Nandi from the Oyoun team \nDuring this workshop we'll reflect on the theme of "resistance" and its presence in our personal narratives and artistic expressions. We encourage you to share their artistic works\, whether in progress or completed\, and engage in a collective exploration within the context of marginalized artistic perspectives. In the first session (5.9.)\, we'll delve into the various forms of resistance and how they manifest across different artistic practices. Facilitated by members of the Oyoun team\, we'll engage in thought-provoking exercises to prompt deeper contemplation on this topic. The second session (13.10.) will delve into the performative aspects of resistance\, considering the influence of localities\, spaces\, and places on shaping our narratives. Feel free to join one or both sessions\, and if you have works or practices to share\, you're welcome to do so\, though it's entirely optional. No prior experience is required. With this festival\, we want to reflect on and learn from movements of resistance\, resilience\, and solidarity across the world and come together for three days of ephemerality and collaborative archiving. With a one-day program in the Tiny OyoUnity project including a participatory installation in the Tiny House\, existing relationships of solidarity and self-organization will be made visible\, and open the space for new encounters. \nThe participatory exhibition will gather the work of political initiatives of marginalized\, racialized communities\, especially Asian diasporic groups\, in collaboration with local initiatives\, (post-)migrant (self-)organizations and community members. He's sex positive\, a tired activist\, lover of bdsm and retro video games\, and a life-long student of marginalised thinking. In every little thing they do there’s some art and caring to be found. \nBreezy \nIf Audre Lorde was a rapper\, Breezy would be the embodiment because the non-binary artist’s hip hop takes on topics like racial identity\, gender politics\, sex positivity\, and queerness. Breezy represents the fluidity in the gray area between “man” and “woman” or “Black” and “white.”  \nBunny B. Blaq \nA queer\, asexual\, Black femme performer from the Caribbean\, Bunny considers herself a humble lover and student of song\, dance\, and the dark arts of cabaret\, such as drag and burlesque. \nCaxxianne \nJamaican-born\, Cayman Islands-raised\, Award-winning contemporary hip-hop and neo-soul artist\, songwriter\, and MC\, Caxxianne has been honing her skills on stages across Europe since 2018 and has not stopped since.  \nElio Coulibaly  \nElio Coulibaly (he/it) is a Berlin based non binary\, Afro-Scandinavian\, dancer\, multidisciplinary artist\, community organizer and educator. \nEmilian \nEmilian has been a sex worker for 13 years\, from stripping to escorting to erotic massages and more. Though its legacy runs half a century\, its popular representation does not reflect the richness of the knowledge and spirit within the art form. Breaking\, to quote Joseph Schloss\, “is a profoundly spiritual discipline\, as much as a martial art as a dance\, as much a vehicle for self-realization as a series of movements.” One of the reasons that “the internal discourse of b-boying has been overlooked is that most academic hip-hop scholarship still operates within the framework of literary analysis and cultural studies. (Foundation\, 2009)  \n\n"Breaking Poetics and Aesthetics" is a hybrid workshop where participants are invited to dance and write about the movement of themselves and each other. By focusing on the foundation moves and sharing writings anonymously with each other\, the workshop seeks to designate the essence of the art form as an intersubjective phenomena. He moved to the US in 2002 and lived there until relocating to Berlin in 2018. \nAt the core of Lee’s practice is dance\, drawing\, reading and writing. His training in dance\, particularly Breaking\, informs his use of feet and floor to perform embodied drawings and writings. Prompted by his ambivalent experience of learning English as a second language\, his artistic inquiry in relation to language led to an absorption in the theory of the origin of dance\, drawing\, and writing arising from the bodily experience of the world\, hence in the bodily relations between them. \nLee embraces the exposure to languages at the edge of our conscious understanding\, such as critical theory\, as a transcendental experience. Inspired by the theory of revolution in one’s every day\, Lee organizes reading groups. In addition to critical theory\, his research involves comparative history between the East and West\, as well as North and South Korea. \nLee’s works have been shown in various galleries and institutions in Berlin\, Leipzig\, and New York. El Cerrejón is the largest open-pit coal mine in South America\, located in Colombia\, where all the coal for Germany is exploited. Unfortunately\, the extraction of this raw material has not only severely decimated the local people displacing them from their land and their human rights\, but also displacing entire rivers and polluted water sources in one of the most arid areas of the country. What is the actual price of Germany's industrial progress? \nDreaming of Water is a small interactive sound installation of coal stones connected to a Midi sound system. As the artist and the audience interact with the rocks\, different water sounds will resonate to create a soundscape referring to the rivers and natural resources now destroyed by coal mining. It is a confrontation to discuss under which conditions Berlin and Germany manage to perpetuate their development. \nTickets: Free admission\nLocation: Oyoun\nLanguage: English \n \nBiography \nAlejandra Alarcón Bautista \nAlejandra was born and raised in Bogotá\, where she got a degree in fine arts at Universidad Nacional de Colombia. In 2013 she won a DAAD-ISAP exchange scholarship and studied Arts & New Media at the Kunsthochschule für Medien-köln. Alejandra moved to Germany in 2017 to continue her studies in scenography and exhibition design at TU Berlin\, where she obtained an M.A. degree. She was a scholarship holder of Sentasverwaltung für Kultur und Europa between 2020/22 and has collaborated with other artists and musicians in many art festivals and independent projects around Germany. \nHer artwork focuses on the design of physical and virtual places using different media. How is the space built? With this question emerged her interest in developing immersive narratives and stimulating constructive criticism. The scenographic element is significant in her work because it allows her to integrate all media: Video\, sound\, color\, light\, and various objects.
