EMBODIED ARTS FESTIVAL - ON THE TRAIL OF EMBODIMENT MEMORIES

♦ ️ ♦ ️ ♦ ️ Embodied Arts Festival Guide ♦ ️ ♦ ️ ♦ ️

What do our bodies embody? What memories can our bodies tell us? - about ourselves, our past and our future? We invite you to pursue these and many other questions artistically with us during the EMBODIED ARTS FESTIVAL. We have over 20 performances, film screenings, discussions and interactive interventions planned for you.

With the means of art we go in search of answers to questions such as: How can we collectively heal trauma? How can our bodies transform from a bundle of social constraints into a manifestation of flourishing life? How do we break taboos about menstruation, gender norms, sexuality (s), death and mourning? Where does hate come from, how does hate work and which path leads from the hateful to the hated?

As part of Oyoun's first curatorial focus - curators, artists and cultural workers - EMBODIED TEMPORALITIES - dealt with identities, belonging and embodied memories from diasporic, decolonial and queer perspectives. This was an 8 month research, archiving, exhibition and performance project that involved over 40 people. The results, encounters and questions that arose from the projects will be presented and celebrated during the EMBODIED ARTS FESTIVAL from April 8th to 18th.

Be there from April 8th and take part in live streams, discussions and interactive talks >>> see program here.

You are invited to experience the exhibited works offline: Here you can select and book a time slot.

EMBODIED ARTS FESTIVAL - TRACING THE MEMORIES OUR BODIES HOLD

♦ ️ ♦ ️ ♦ ️ Embodied Arts Festival Guide ♦ ️ ♦ ️ ♦ ️

What memories do our bodies hold? What can our bodies tell us about ourselves, our pasts and our futures? We invite you to join us for an artistic exploration of these and many other questions during the EMBODIED ARTS FESTIVAL. We have 20+ performances, film screenings, discussions, and interactive interventions planned for you.

Using art as a tool we go in search of answers to questions such as: How do we break taboos about menstruation, about gender norms, about sexualities, about death and mourning? How can we collectively heal trauma? How can our bodies transform from an object that is a carrier of social constraints into a manifestation of thriving, living bodies? Where does hate come from, how does it affect us, and what path does it take from hater to hated?

Curators, artists and cultural practitioners have been exploring identities, belonging and embodied memories through diasporic, decolonial and queer perspectives as part of Oyoun's first curatorial focus: EMBODIED TEMPORALITIES. This has been an 8-month research, archiving, exhibition and performance project involving 40+ people. The outcomes, encounters and queries which have come out of the projects will be presented and celebrated during the EMBODIED ARTS FESTIVAL from 8th - 18th April.

Join us from the 8th April onwards for our digital programs of releases, live streams and interactive talks that we have planned for you >>> see all events here.

From the 9th - 18th April you can book a time slot to view and experience the exhibited works in person at Oyoun.
