Becoming Alman

Physical artefacts, mixed media and performance - in this artistic field of tension, the Bulgarian artist Lora Krasteva invites you to a performative exhibition with "Becoming Alman", which revolves around the topic of citizenship. After the first events in the Czech Republic (“Becoming Czech”) and Romania (“Becoming Romanian”), “Becoming Alman” was the third of four editions of their production “Becoming […]”, which is touring as part of Perform Europe, at Oyoun.

Together with three local artists from different disciplines and art forms, a creative space was created in which individuals or collectives with migration experience can address questions about national identities, belonging and the challenges (and benefits!) of migration and being foreign for themselves and their communities reflect. Local artists, needs, experiences and perspectives were empowered in this creative process and celebrated in a subsequent exhibition open to the public.
