Sana Rizvi

Sana Rizvi was gripped by film fever at a young age and has been part of the film festival circuit for over a decade. From being a guest supervisor for documentary filmmakers to running a film festival in the Himalayas in a city with no cinema (at least not while she was there), she was able to surround herself with the operations of a deeply creative and reflective industry.
She feels drawn to the cinema, which claims new spaces of political and aesthetic assertion from different perspectives and with different voices and challenges the status quo through innovative storytelling. After living across continents and timelines, she uses film as a medium to initiate a dialogue about identity, representation and a rethinking of belonging.
