Jihen Saoudi

Jihen Saoudi, from Tunisia, graduated from high school in 2015 and then studied German as a foreign language. In 2018 she received the national diploma for applied German. Four years later she became part of the volunteer project of the German Commission for UNESCO and was accepted as a trainee for the project “Together Volunteering” in Berlin. There she supported the Oyoun cultural center in Neukölln for three months. During that time, she created a dictionary that explained terms like queer, BIPOC, colorism, racism, FLINTA*, colonialism, and cultural appropriation. This dictionary will remain with future trainees at Oyoun. In addition, she supervised events together with two colleagues and managed her own project. This project involved creating a audio recording in German, French and Arabic to offer visitors an auditory presentation of the exhibition.
