PROFILE

GOLNAR TABIBZADEH

Golnar is a Berlin based visual artist, storyteller, art coach and visual researcher. After completing her BA in Fine Arts from Tehran Azad University of Arts and Architecture in 2005, she began her artistic career with painting as the main component of her work.

Golnar's works are dissections of their surroundings. A reflection of real things and characters stripped of their outer personality and social skin to reveal a coral-like and rather raw nature. In her work, she claims that among the regulated, integrated qualities of our social norms lies a collective desire for untamed, intuitive, and harsh human qualities that is shared without exposure.

In her more recent and ongoing projects, Golnar expands the content of her works of art beyond private, real life stories with a critical look at social issues such as femininity, displacement and trauma. These projects are research-based visual documentation and archiving of stories from people who have experienced trauma in today's world.

In parallel to her work as a visual artist, Golnar works as a curator and art teacher.
