Ahmad Gharbeia

Ahmad Gharbeia has been since the establishment of ADEF (Arab Digital Expression Foundation) in 2011 at ADEF, supporting groups and individuals who advocate social change, education and expression to make better use of information technology in creative ways. He is particularly interested in questions of digital preservation, knowledge organization and decentralized communication, as well as their effects on society. For example, he examines how Arabic-language “wikis” - self-organized knowledge portals on the Internet - serve as catalysts for activists and trains other bloggers, among other things, not to leave any traces on the Internet and to transmit messages securely.
