Collective Healing from Colonial Memories

Mala Badi

is a gender non-conforming performance artist: in *, writer: in * and political activist: in * from Morocco. Performances and writings arise from Mala's personal experiences in daily life.

Mala would like to increase the visibility of the queer & trans * North African, Amazonian, Muslim and refugee communities. Mala believes that decolonizing art is a necessary political act of affirmation of existence against the global attack and marginalization of the cultures, stories and collective artistic work of the POC and people from the south.

Cartographies of affect - in the queer and now

A 10-day festival attended by more than 40 artists, tracing narratives of queer history and (contemporary) resistance with the aim of creating transnational solidarity. The aim of the festival was to collect experiences and practices from different cultures living in Berlin and the “Global South”, while introducing the idea of ​​intersectionality and showing how different forms of identification create synergies.
