⇒ Workshop | “The Home ReMixtape Archives”
w/ Maurice Leoni-Osion
For many of us, home is where we are born, reside, genealogically rooted, or establish a sense of belonging. However, this definition of the home is not always shared by a broader population, specifically marginalized communities, who, like everyone, should be accepted for instinctual birthrights to provide an inner structure/shelter to protect cultures, languages, loved ones, stories, dreams, memories, and futures.
The Home ReMixtape Artchives is a series of art workshops utilizing the creation of home mixtapes as an archival approach to document, protect and preserve untold stories centered around the home experience. Participants will explore mixed media; graff writing, illustrations, timelines, found sounds, interviews, audio recordings, songs, and music production to collaborate on a community mixtape. The goal is to provide a creative space for various voices to tell their younique stories while finding a cohesive rhythm amongst each other that celebrates future narratives from their neighborhoods.
The workshops will culminate in an interactive exhibition from 16 to 30 November 2023 at Oyoun, where the public will have access to the five editions of the Mixtape series, each representing a community archive from five districts across Berlin.

⇒ Workshop | “Let's get chemical: b/w film development”
w/ Ley & Anu – Queer Analog Darkroom
On the 6th of September (15:00-19:00 h) there will be an intensive workshop on black and white film development over 4 hours taking place at Oyoun in collaboration with Queer Analog Darkroom.
This is the first time the darkroom is opened to the public. There will be the opportunity to be introduced to the chemical processes of developing a b/w film which allows a focus on elements like light, shadow, texture, and composition. Each participant gets the opportunity to shoot and develop their own film. The number of participants is limited to 8.
Film development is understood as a way to collaboratively step away from the fast-paced digital world that promotes the capitalist accumulation of pictures. Instead, there is an aim to embrace a more contemplative and humble approach to photography that fosters a deeper connection to its locality.
The workshop is being delivered by Law and Anuas well as the Queer Analog Darkroomteam

⇒ Pop Up Event | "Dreaming of Water"
w/ Alejandra Alarcon Batista
Due to war and lack of energy, Germany decided to increase coal imports from Colombia to improve its energy supply. El Cerrejón is the largest open pit coal mine in South America, located in Colombia and where all the coal for Germany is mined. Unfortunately, the exploitation of this resource has not only severely decimated local people, forcing them off their land and depriving them of their human rights, but has also diverted entire rivers and polluted water sources in one of the country's driest regions. What is the real price of Germany's industrial progress?
"Dreaming of Water" is a small interactive sound installation made of carbon bricks connected to a MIDI sound system. As the artist and audience interact with the stones, different water sounds will resonate, creating a soundscape that references the rivers and natural resources that have now been destroyed by coal mining. It is a confrontation with the aim of discussing the conditions under which Berlin and Germany can maintain their development.
