Theater and storytelling workshop for Arabic & English speakers with Nadeem
May 22, 2022 14:00 - 17:00
يالا نحكي ونمثل ونلعب ونزقطط وبالعربي كمان!
Community theater and storytelling can be lovely tools to connect, feel seen, entertain/get entertained and just have a lot of fun. During these workshops we aim at learning theater and storytelling techniques together. We will tell each other's stories in a safe space, reenact them, and play around moving our bodies and shaking off our worries in the process. The workshop will be conducted in Arabic and English. It is open for everyone (no need for any previous experience in with acting and theatre). However, we especially encourage minority and marginalized groups in Berlin and people between 18 and 27 years old! Try out sessions on 22/05/2022 and 24/05/2022 choose one and let's play!
The workshop is free but registrations are needed. To register: please email your details and day of preference (22nd or 24th) to nadeemy@riseup.net
Language: Arabic and English
About the artist:
Nadeem is a theater practitioner, filmmaker and visiting lecturer based in Berlin. His relationship with theater started years ago in Cairo as he struggled with his surrounding social and political reality and needed a new way to connect, feel more present in his body and have fun. Since then, he has performed in numerous interactive and improvised theater performances among other forms of public performances. Prior to his theater training he studied and worked in filmmaking, politics and economics. He continuously aims at finding ways to mix these topics as a multidisciplinary artist.
