Movie Screening: Song Won-Geun, I am 93. My name is Kim Bok-Dong., 2019, 101 min.
subtitle: with English subtitles

From 1932 to 1945, the Imperial Japanese Military maintained so-called “comfort stations” for its soldiers, where countless young women and girls from several countries in East and Southeast Asia were exposed to sexual violence. In the 1990s, numerous people affected came forward and founded a social movement that fights to come to terms with this history.

Kim Bok-Dong (1926-2019) was one of these so-called military “comfort women.” From 1992 until her death in 2019, she was tirelessly involved in the movement and carried the message of peace to the world as a women's rights activist. The documentary shows the life of this great fighter with an indomitable will, who traveled the world at the age of 90. Their goal was to get the Japanese government to take legal responsibility for the “comfort women” system and apologize directly to the victims.

This event is co-organised by Korea Verband e.V. .
