Reading & Exhibition | Berlin. In Translation – A Multisensory Exhibition and Reading Event about Migration and Movement

Berlin. In Translation is a four-week writing and translation workshop whose participants have a history of migration in Germany. The reading event serves as a final meeting for the public to present the texts and translations that have been created over the past few months. In addition, the participants will exhibit migration- and project-related interdisciplinary artworks.
The participants of the workshop all have migration history as well as work and writing experiences in different fields and disciplines.

Biographies
Ily Shirin
Founder and organizer of B.IT (Berlin. In Translation), is a German-Afghan translator with a BA in German and English literature and linguistics. She is currently enrolled at the University of Iowa in the MFA program in Literary Translation. She has pedagogical experience and focuses on the topic of "translanguaging".

The University of Iowa supported organizer Ilie Shirin with a travel grant for flights and accommodation. Thanks to hopscotch reading room, with whom we work in collaboration, we had a room in Berlin-Wedding where we could run our workshop.
