Queer ping pong
October 8, 2022 12:00 am - 21:00

Dear friends and future friends,
Due to the weather conditions, Queer Ping Pong has decided to postpone the event by one week 08 October 2022 to move. LINE UP and CONCERT remain unchanged.
Thanks for your understanding! We hope that we can reach all of our ping pong players and music lovers!
We hope that it will not rain on October 08th, but we are only postponing once.
Keep up the ping pong spirit!

Hand on the trowel and on the heart:
Ping Pong or table tennis is a queer sport - it is open to almost everyone, is contactless and is a lot of fun for beginners and pros alike. Therefore, on Saturday, October 1st, four table tennis tables will be set up for a queer ping pong tournament - for us, for you, for the community. All in the beautiful garden of Oyoun, the queer feminist space in Neukölln.
All very relaxed, just for the fun of the game and the community. From early afternoon to sunset.
Including the obligatory record for Rundlauf and DJ sets and concert from Anthony Huseyin!

To the project:
"Queer Ping Pong - Hand to the trowel and heart" combines movement, music and club culture with queerness and post-migrant discourse at the table tennis table. It is a safer space for female*, non-binary, queer artists, musicians and interested people and enables a differentiated examination of the surrounding places and people opposite.
About the organizers:
Yesim Duman and İpek İpekcioglu are two queer migrant musicians, activists and an integral part of Berlin's club culture, who campaign for more visibility of female-read artists. In addition to a long-standing friendship and many joint projects, both share a passion for ping pong.
_Yesim Duman is a curator, DJ, activist and organizer of the queer series bubble, erdogay and Pop-Hayat. Duman is active in the female:pressure network and coordinates and moderates the monthly show on ByteFM. Duman works in an interdisciplinary manner and condenses activities from the queer club scene and the post-migrant discourse. In 2019, her performative installation "Caystube" was created for the Pop-Kultur Festival Berlin. Her work focuses on questions of solidarity and new collective practices in sports and pop culture.
_DJ İpek aka İpek İpekcioglu is an international DJ, producer, curator and queer activist based in Berlin and Istanbul. In addition to DJing and producing, İpek's work is shaped by his own bicultural socialization and has a strong socio-critical focus. In various projects, İpek also deals with topics such as women, migration, racism, multiple discrimination and gender issues.
