48h Neukölln | Queer Comedy Show: Ghetto Wrestling
June 25, 2023 15:00 - 16:30

Ghetto Wrestling is a Queer Comedy Show focused on camp wrestling performance.
It's a spectacle where creativity in costume and character is more important than wrestling ability. Fully Unprofessional, Ghetto Wrestling is a Comedy Show looking for candidates to perform as wrestlers. To submit, people need a Wrestling name, and a Wrestling persona (gimmick). By persona we mean any details to the character: costumes, secret weapons, specials moves, back story and anything that can delight or intrigue the audience. With these details we can set up the most interesting bouts for the show. The contestants don’t need to have a previous wrestling experience. A master of ceremonies introduces the characters before each fight and animates the show with cheerleading performers and crowd alike, supported by musical acts.
Tickets: Free admission

About the organizers
Ghetto Wrestling was co-founded in 2011 in Berlin by Disgustingly Clever (artists Flavie Guerrand and Dave the Chimp), during the artist residency launched by the Oxylane Art Foundation. The first edition of Ghetto Wrestling took place at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien and brought together wildly costumed creatures in a hilarious evening featured on ZDF's Kultur. The event was a great success when it was held the following year at the Rock the Block festival in Kreuzberg. Since his last appearance at the Naughty Xmas Market in 2019, Disgustingly Clever been raising the visibility of the LGBTQIA+ community through politically engaged comedy.
About the wrestlers
Karen Preacher
She has received the call of Christ to deliver us from evil and the wrath of God. Since her third dose of the Corona vaccine, she is sometimes possessed by a demonic soul despite her last three exorcisms. She is constantly under temptation, but continues to praise the Lord between epileptic seizures because of her commitment and her fight against the forces of evil.
Senorita Toyota Corolla
The daughter of a legendary lineage of drag performers. Toyota Corolla is a beautiful car crash that emanates sex, love and fear.
Deeply rooted in Latinoamerica culture, Senorita's main goal is to inspire Latin people into reclaiming spaces. To inspire minorities in the queer community to exist, to dance and to love themselves.
It's like a tragic and nostalgic story that will burn the house down and invite everybody to twerk over the ashes of what existed, and hopefully, we all create a queer and liberated new world.
Pippa Woodoobear
She is back. After a long time spent in the deep South, she will be there for YOU. Pippa Woodoobear, from the North part of Europe, is a skjoldsmøyer. Sent by Odin in the default world, she is a divine being. But be careful, her charm will smash your face on the floor, you will taste the sweat on the ring floor... After few years in the Upside down world, she is also known as..."Tiger Queen". Can you hear the ROAR..? It's time to roar, young lions. Right of kissing your ass reserved.
