FRATZ Festival: Performing Arts for the Youngest in Hong Kong
May 16, 2022 12:30 - 14:30

Live Zoom talk and screening of HK5senses work with Gemini Wong Yuk Tak
The FRATZ Festival curator Marie Yan spent half a year in Hong Kong in 2021 for a theater project and during this time got to know the HK5Senses Theatre, which is dedicated to working with babies and toddlers.
As part of the FRATZ 2022 symposium, we want to get to know the work of this theater by showing her video documentation with English subtitles and meeting the theater maker in a public zoom call for an exchange. We would like to learn about the working conditions of the artists in Hong Kong and how families, the audience of the HK5Senses Theater live in this metropolis. HK5senses is Hong Kong's first and only professional theater company that has championed sensory and immersive theater for very young audiences. Director and founder Gemini Wong Yuk Tak is a long-time pioneer of performing arts for the youngest in Asia and has been invited to the ASSITEJ International World Conference 2020 and ASSITEJ Japan and Korea, among others.
The exchange takes place in English. If interested, a zoom translation can be organised. Please register for this by April 29 at the latest: accreditation@fratz-festival.de
The event can easily be combined with a visit to a performance of TAH DAM! by MusicDance Cape Town (South Africa) at 11:00 am at Oyoun. The venue has a café with snacks and WiFi for the break. Alternatively, you can also take part in the event online on a donation basis.
