Film screening + conversation | Documentary “The Aryans” (2014) by Mo Asumang | Only for FLINTA* + BIPoC

The event is exclusively for FLINTA* and BIPoC.

DaMigra invite you to a film afternoon. Together with you, they want to use the documentary film by the Afro-German filmmaker Mo Asumang “The Aryans” (2014) to search for the origins of the Aryan term and understand how the term is still misused by right-wing extremists in Germany and the USA today.

In this award-winning documentary, Mo Asumang shows why a better understanding of history is important for everyone. She travels to the true Aryans in Iran and also to the USA, where she meets with racists. She goes to right-wing extremist demonstrations to talk to the participants: She wants to find out why people are racially excluded.

Mo Asumang names racist categorization, stereotypes and prejudices and shows what helps us counter racism. It shows excellently how hatred and right-wing propaganda can be combated.

After the film, an exchange space should be created: What do you take away from the film? What did you like and/or dislike? What does coming to terms with history do to you?
