Livestream transmission: Book premiere - Mohamed Amjahid: Let's Talk About Sex, Habibi @ Oyoun-Club

September 27, 2022 18:30 AM - 20:00

Free of charge

In addition to the sold-out reading by Mohamed Amjahid, we are offering a live stream in the Oyoun Club. Tickets are free but must be reserved using the ticket button at the bottom of this page.

Our view of love and desire in North Africa is heavily influenced by clichés, orientalism and fetishization. But what freedoms are there in supposedly closed societies? Where are the boundaries and who defines them? Mohamed Amjahid shows how the everyday sexuality of North Africans really is and does away with racist stereotypes. He tells of orgies at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, love spells and Salafists who, against their beliefs, sell overpriced condoms. But also about toxic masculinity, religious abuse of power and sexualised violence. An unclouded look into the bedrooms of North Africa - intimate, taboo and very entertaining.

Admission: 18:00 p.m. | Start: 18:30 (on time)
Tickets: Admission free | Reservation required -> ticket button at the bottom of the page
