BROWN LABELS derive from the understanding of being 'other'. From both the internal and the external. The idea that being of mixed - race or mixed descent can both alienate an individual, and inform them in a multitude of ways. Many brown descent or mixed people have often described not fitting in. Being told that they are better than, but not as good as. The “Brown Labels” performance explores this discourse through music, poetry, dance and personal memories.

The piece "Brown Labels" shows this discourse through music, dance and personal memories.
