A documentary about the birth and early years of the AIDS activist movement ACT UP and the people on the front lines fighting the insidious disease. About Sarah Schulman
Sarah Schulman is a novelist, playwright, screenwriter, nonfiction author, and AIDS historian. She is a professor at Northwestern University and a member of the advisory board of Jewish Voice for Peace.
About Ben Mauk
Ben Mauk is a writer and filmmaker living in Berlin. His essays and reports appear in the New York Times Magazine and The New Yorker, among others. He is a 2024 National Fellow at New America and a 2024 National Endowment for the Humanities Public Scholar.

United in anger: a history of action is an inspiring documentary about the birth and life of the aids activist movement from the perspective of the people in the trenches fighting the epidemic. Utilizing oral histories of members of act up, as well as rare archival footage, the film depicts the efforts of act up as it battles corporate greed, social indifference, and government neglect.
