Fourth wave film festival #niunamenos

November 13, 2021 16:00 AM - 20:00

(See German translation below)

On November 13th the Fourth Wave Film Festival will introduce a new category: #niunamenos.

The "Vierte Welle Film Festival" includes in its program audiovisual productions exclusively made by women of the so-called Fourth-wave feminism. The aim of the festival is to provide visibility for female artists and help to raise awareness of gender inequality and citizen participation and therefore help to prevent prejudice and fight against discrimination.

The category #niunamenos presents short films made by Latin American filmmakers who identify themselves as women and who claim to be part of the #niunamenos movement. “Ni una menos” - Not one (woman) less- a feminist movement that emerged in Argentina in 2015, which would later expand on a large scale to several countries in Latin America and other regions of the world. It is a protest group that fights against violence against women and its most serious and visible consequence, feminicide. From an intersectional perspective, the slogan "Ni una menos" also includes other forms of violence against women crossed by different forms of oppression whether based on gender, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation, or origin.

The release of #niunamenos will take place on November 13th at Oyoun's garden. Also, a networking space for activists of different feminist collectives will be created. The screening will start at 6 pm. Afterward, there will be a moderated discussion about the films, where the Berlin-based directors are invited to introduce themselves and talk about their works.

Free admission with registration >>> Link here.

* A member of our team will help them produce their own pieces of art in the children's corner.

On November 13th, the Fourth Wave Film Festival will introduce a new category: #niunamenos.

The Fourth Wave Film Festival only includes audiovisual productions by women of the so-called Fourth Wave in its program. The aim of the festival is, on the one hand, to make artists more visible and, on the other hand, to raise awareness of gender injustice in society in order to help avoid prejudice and combat discrimination.

The #niunamenos category presents short films by Latin American filmmakers who identify as women and see themselves as part of the #niunamenos movement. "Ni una menos" (no more) is a feminist movement that originated in Argentina in 2015 and later expanded to several countries in Latin America and other regions of the world. It is a protest group against violence against women and its most serious and visible consequence, feminicide. From an intersectional perspective, the slogan "Ni una menos" also includes other forms of violence against women resulting from various forms of oppression based on gender, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation or origin.

#niunamenos starts on November 13th in the garden of the Oyoun - in view of the expected November cold, hot drinks are available. In addition, a space will be created for the networking of various feminist collectives. The screening starts at 18 p.m. Afterwards there will be a moderated discussion on the films, in which the directors living in Berlin are invited to introduce themselves and talk about their work.

Free entry with registration >> Link here.

* We recommend parents to come with their children! A corner with artistic activities - guided by a member of our team - will be waiting for you!
