An open call for concept ideas during the first lockdown to create and implement new formats that make it possible to support artists and make art and culture (beyond the live stream) accessible - even in the independence of physical spaces.

On Friday, March 13.03.2020th, XNUMX, Berlin cultural institutions were shut down in order to reduce the spread of the coronavirus. This meant that events were also canceled, which put the income of countless artists and cultural workers at risk.

How do we deal with it when resources suddenly run out? What are the new possibilities and how can we create solidarities through existing spaces? What tasks do cultural institutions, politics and civil society have in times of uncertainty? How can we rethink art and culture?

As a non-profit cultural institution, Oyoun feels it has a responsibility to work with affected artists to find a (missing) answer to the questions.

A biographical theater workshop for women FLTI* with a migration background, led by Lorena. The participants embarked on a journey together to explore the themes of “Body, Migration and Revolution”.

Empower Sessions is a live audiovisual performance series. The virtual and the organic merge, with the staging and lighting creating the illusion of a hologram that appears inside the projection cube.

Balconies

Balconies

Balcony is an urban-ecological art project that opens up a virtual land without borders in the social media space. Photographs of balcony mini-ecosystems are automatically compiled online by citizen scientists to form a kind of map that can be stepped through by scrolling. In this way we visually create a more uniform feeling of togetherness without borders from the current focus of "social distancing".

Muse, Folded

This work by Golnar Tabibzadeh aims to create a way of sharing and connecting beyond digital formats by making use of the tradition of the mail art. Via a chain of postal exchange, each artist is invited to create a work that is inspired by an original work of art that he * she receives in the mail. This work will then be mailed to the next artist.
